So whaddayathink? Robles for closer not so much? In his defense, 1 of those 5 runs was unearned.

In his defense, he should be taken out and shot like a lame horse.

I don’t think anyone ever wanted him as closer. He’s been pretty bad all season. There is a reason the Twins gave him away

Look at the pitch plot charts for many of Vaz’s PAs and you’ll see he could have walked in many of them, if could just not swing at obvious balls.

Why do I keep making myself watch every pitch of every game?

I did too. Up to Robles, the bullpen was pretty terrific tonight. The bats did score 6 runs, 5 earned. A better game than the way it started.

Speaking of which, that's 2 straight so-so starts.

"You think that trading for a good reliever would have actually helped this team?!?"

"Uh, seems like it now."

Seems like we needed Scherzer, Rizzo, Schwarber and 3 RP'ers.

Damn Bloom dropped the ball.

Yeah but it would have lifted the team's spirits and mojo, just like Cash's moves did with the Yankees.

(Just messing with you.)

LOL

Schwarber lifted our morale, last night. It worked out very well.

Seems like just one good reliever would have made a pretty big difference the past week or so.

Simply put , they should not be having this kind of trouble against teams like the Rangers and Twins. And they should not be holding auditions for closer at this point in the season. Whose fault it is is strictly a matter of opinion.

It is what it is. The reason we don't beat up on those teams is that we're just not that good.

If Whitlock pitched the 10 last night we win that game. Can he not pitch in 2 games in a 7 day span? Either he can't or Cora s*** the bed last night by not bringing him in the game.

Whitlock pitched 2.2 innings and threw 37 pitches on Monday. So they weren't going to use him again on Wednesday.

And that's why that game hurt us more than we knew, at the time.

Personally , I think Whitlock should be closing unless and until Barnes gets straightened out. There are those who think the closer role is not vitally important. That's a matter of opinion also. To me , nothing is more deflating than blowing a game that appeared to be won.

Beating up on bad teams doesn't always mean you sweep 'em all, but we better win, today!

No but they needed to win 5 of 6 against these 2 s*** teams. I understand you're not going to win every time against a bad team but you shouldn't lose this much either

The Rays have won 8 of the last 10. The Yanks have won 10 of the last 10. We are 5-5. We are going nowhere IMO.
