So Robles will be the closer? Oye!

Well, he’s got the second most on the staff this year. That was his first for the Sox but he had 10 for the Twins. At the very least, he didn’t s*** the bed tonight.

I could see multiple guys bring used now. Robles, maybe Whitlock and once in a while Ottavino. It sure as hell can’t be Barnes; he needs to be like the 6th inning guy right now.

Thank you Robles! Matty Barnes needs to see a psychologist. It’s clearly mental at this point.

It's mental only because he knows his stuff is no longer effective, especially the knuckle curve which used to break big and get him K's. Now it doesn't, and his fast ball is slower and clearly easier to hit.

And they were so good for a while there.

Crazy freakin' game.

Actually, it was a long while, like the first 100 games or so. I think/guess that the biggest problem for them--and certainly Barnes--is adapting to the new rule about not doctoring up the ball.

And yet, ironically perhaps, our self-proclaimed ball doctor Richards has been pitching well lately.

Robles threw 21 straight pitches maybe as hard as any human in history... while Taylor tossed one pitch and was credited with the win.

Robles stinks and he is a complete idiot. He is always confused by the signs (which is funny because he only has 2 pitches), often doesn’t know the count, and is clueless about whether a teammate is ready for a pickoff throw.

I need to keep my record for accuracy above 50% so I am better than a replacement poster.

I think the requirement for replacement is just 40%. You may need to fudge your resume.

Throwing fewer knuckle curves and trying to mix up his pitches better. Plus I think his command is better. But your point is well taken. Richards initially acted as though he had been pulverized by enforcement of that very old rule.
