Just missed it.

@RedSox

The #RedSox today recalled RHP Tanner Houck from Triple-A Worcester. To make room for Houck on the active roster, the club optioned OF Jarren Duran to Worcester.

A little surprised they sent Duran vs Dalbec . It will likely be a quick return trip as Houck is now the designated mover instead of Chavis. In fact, I doubt that the player being moved out actually goes anywhere for a one night stand.

Dalbec hits better than Duran right now. Fields better than him too. Seems like they are going to keep Schwarber in LF for the most part going forward.

Duran may already have one lined up in Worcester from his time there earlier in the season. Dalbec would have to be introduced to the local action by new teammates who may not want to share at bats.

Also, I believe Duran will have to go down for 10 days. Not sure if he's eligible to return on September 1.

Cora clearly wants 4 lefty bats, so Schwarber goes to LF, Verdugo to CF, Kike to 2b yet again, and Arroyo to sit for now with lefty bat Devers at 3b as always and Shaw gets 1b.

Shaw vs. a righty starter allows Cora to wait a tad longer before putting Schwarber at 1b. Plus Shaw, last night's game notwithstanding, is a better fielder than Dalbec.

Duran goes back to AAA because of hitting and no good reason to put a weak bat in the outfield. As it is, Kike keeps getting sent to 2B so Schwarber or JDM can play in the outfield and the other can DH.

With Arroyo back, Kike will not need to play 2B as much, so the OF is squeezed.

No Duran

No JD

Limited Schwarber

Was hoping to see Schwarber at 1B and Arroyo at 2B, tonight. Maybe tomorrow.

2. Schwarber LF

3. Bogey SS

4. Devers 3B

5. JD DH

6. Verdugo CF

Crap, blacked out here.

Damn blackout rules. By my count, I’m blacked out for White Sox, Cubs, Cardinals, Royals, Brewers and Twins games. At least White Sox games I can see on their regional station. Not sure about the Cubs. The rest have no cable/satellite/streaming presence here whatsoever.

I can count on one hand the number of Twins hats I’ve ever seen in this area and I’ve been here 37 years.

Stream the game on Reddit..

I’ve got a meeting at 7 my time, but was hoping to watch from the beginning once that was over. Now I’ll have to wait until 90 minutes after the game ends.

Houck already at 47 pitches for 2 innings allowing 4 hits and a walk. He needs an efficient 3rd just to get through 4 or 5 total. Not really helping the cause yet
