'Repeatable skill' is a term made up by some baseball stat nerds. I really don't have to respect it.

Baseball is not even the first sport I heard the term used. I heard it used by a football coach regarding spirals, so no.

Still doesn't make it useful.

Please see my post #179 on the clutch/choke thread where I responded to your definition of a repeatable skill.

Whatever you said, you're wrong Bellhorn, because you've been infected with sbf syndrome, and I don't think I can trust you anymore.

You're like the Aaron Boone of posting.

How the f*** would you know. You take more time off than Grady Sizemore.

And less time off than SCM.

Would you be happier if I just said it's not a skill?

Did you read my definition?

Lurking is even grosser than posting.

99 users online, 10 active users or whatever. Who are these 89 creeps that can't bother to put in their password?

I know A700 thinks he's a must read, but I don't know how anyone could read this site for pleasure.

I read your post, but you didn't actually provide a definition. You basically said repeatable skill means clutch doesn't exist.

notin is the Jeffrey Toobin of TalkSox.

No.

When they finally make the Talk Sox miniseries, I will NOT be portrayed by Chris Conner.

My people are in talks with Kit Harrington and, if that falls through, Tony Shaloub…

Sorry. We had to include your character, mostly because Rob Schneider already signed on to work for scale.

And by scale, I mean he just wanted a trailer to sleep under…

I felt dirty just dating someone from NYC. She didn't even like baseball.

As far as I can figure, we'll be about $35-40M below the tax line after arbs and the player benefits are paid.

If we are allowed to go over line one but not line two, we can add $19M to that total- assuming there is a tax line and it's near $210M.

That's about $55M to $60M total! That's astounding!

We might just need 4-5 slots filled:

SP 1 or 2 (replace ERod) (Houck, Whitlock & Seabold may replace Richards/Perez)

Closer (replace Ottavino and move Barnes to set up)

1B (Dalbec to bench or AAA)

Utility IF'er (Kike to CF FT- Arroyo at 2B FT)

Pitching depth

With $60M, we could spend $25M on a SP'er, $13M on a closer, $10M on a 1Bman, $7M on a pitcher and $5M on a utility player better than Marwin was.

It would be a big mistake to not extend K.Schwarber. While the Red Sox lead the league in chasing pitches out of the zone, Schwarber is the opposite kind of hitter with a 24% swing rate. In contrast, JD Martinez has a 38% swing rate at pitches out of the zone, the worst of his career, even worse than his swing rate when he was a struggling offensive player during his younger days. Also, JD Martinez will be turning 34 in a couple of days; Schwarber will turn 29 in March.

I would be shocked to see the Red Sox let Schwarber leave. I think he was acquired not just for this year but for the next few seasons.

If the Red Sox extend Schwarber for DH, I would look for a starting 1b with one year left on his contract. J.Aguilar would be perfect with T.Casas taking over 1b in 2023.

1b: Aguilar

2b: Hernandez

SS: Bogaerts

3b: Devers

LF: Verdugo

CF: Duran

RF: Renfroe

DH: Schwarber

w/ Arroyo as a super utility guy.

I’d love to hear that we extend Schwarber, but JD is not opting out.

Also, as of now, Arroyo>>>> Duran

Where did that JD will forego his 2022 salary of $19.325M for a new 3 year $45M crowd go?

I was never in that crowd.

I actually think we may extend or rework his deal. We may even extend him and re-sign Schwarber, too.
