they have looked consistently bad. At least we can't blame Duran for what is happening today.

I don't recall many potshots at Duran in the game threads that blamed the entire game on him. If he screwed up--like a K with men on base or whatever--he got zinged just like any other player.

His OPS is .568 and his WAR is -.3. Are we supposed to be cheering for him whatever he does?

Its not a well constructed team and both Duran and Dalbac are being put in situations that are tough on them. Dalbac is in a tough spot batting from the 9 hole which sort of tells you where he really belongs.

This team was always going to have to rely on 4 guys in the batting order and if they stumbled we were going to be in trouble. They stumbled. We are in trouble. Bullpen is the only group that has overachieved and that is just not enough.

It's not in the threads but inferred in what the pundits have been printing recently. They seem to advocate sending him down after 53 AB's and only 9 hits. He has played sporadically and during the last two games he has provided his share of the offense while some all star players are struggling. As moon often says, small sample sizes are often misleading.

FO gave up on them.

Yuppers!

I hate to say it. The last handful of games this team isn’t even fun to watch. Holy s***.

Did anybody see if that thing hit the seam between turf and infield. Short has been a panic out there today.

Management gave up on them, so now they will play for individual stats. And the pitching will go straight into the toilet.

While some may say that's being negative, most have been pretty positive of this since the deadline. If fans and media feel that way, how can uniformed personnel not.

You'll have to look hard, however, to find someone who thinks the team's play since the deadline is just a coincidence.

What is our ERA for starting rotation ?

Better yet. What do we rank for our starting rotation in the league. I know we are 14 in overall. But our rotation has to be near the end.

Well it was fun while it lasted.

It was unexpected and it was great fun. I believe they could have gone deep into the post season if they were reinforced. I believed in them more than Bloom did.

ERA - 20th for starters, 25th in WHIP

This rotation has given up more hits than any other rotation in MLB.

What a f***ing miserable game . Losing to a team that’s not playing for anything. August swoon is here!!!!! Yankees will soon take the wildcard lead. Just a matter of time. There’s just no accountability on this team right now.

I wonder what excuses they will give bloom next year. The guy has done zero here. Zero!!!!!

Wow….. that is all I can say to that.

I think Cora has the player's respect. They are trying. I don't see them tanking at all. The problem is that some of them are just not that good. It stands to reason that the more good players you have , the better the team will be. The problem is how much are you willing to spend in dollars and prospects to get them? I do think Schwarber can help . Don't know how good he will be defensively , but he does have a lefty power bat. Sale is the biggest factor. And I don't get the reluctance some have to put Houck in the rotation. Just look what we are running out there now. Anyways , you can't give up on this team every time they hit a rough spot.

True but having a bottom five rotation is scary. Truly, when is the last time a team made playoffs with a rotation that bad? If Sale is good and we have a consistent E Rod we could be ok witb Sale, Nate and E Rod but If not I just don’t see how this team will adjust witb that bad of pitching g.

It’s come down to hoping and praying Sale, Houck, Schwarber and the return of Arroyo give us the boost we need at our highest need area.

Concerning the upcoming 4 game series in Toronto:

Good news: There can only be 15,000 fans in the ballpark.

Bad news: No chance of rainouts.

Now that the magic and mojo are gone, the SOX only have reality, and reality won't be their friend.

The ERA and WHIP surprises me. I thought the SOX would be closer to 30th in both. That the SOX rotation has given up more hits than any other rotation doesn't surprise me at all.

Poor defense is one reason our pitching looks so bad and our BAbip is off the charts.

Not sure if it was the last time, but the 2015 Kansas City Royals had a bottom 5 rotation and won the World Series
