Bloom gets his marching orders from JH. He wasn't allowed to spend money and he was attempting to wheel and deal with a weak farm system. I'm somewhat surprised they even got Schwarber.

Reading Bloom's interview and I'm sure there will be more, leaves little doubt he is thinking 2022 not win at any cost. The flip side is that you can only play the game currently going on , next year is never assured . Nice to lay a foundation but not if that prevents you from leveraging your current opportunity, with only 56 games to go. I get the feeling Bloom would consider the WC game a "win " this season

I'm pissed at Bloom too, but I also have to say the Sox rotation stinks so bad right now I don't think one arm, no matter how good, was going to fix it. Plus Sale is not a sure thing until we see him go through a Major League lineup.
