I just think we have to be a little careful about getting holier-than-thou about the Astros and talking about stripping titles. There are people out there who think the Red Sox should also have forfeited their 2018 rings, and that they should never have re-hired Cora etc.

I think I said the could have stripped their title, not that I think they should have.

They could have been stricter to us, too.

But most of us Red Sox fans are also Patriots’ fans who saw the team punished to ridiculous levels for a scandal that no one proved existed and was pushed incredibly by shoddy ESPN coverage. And yes, I read the Wells Report. My first conclusion from it was NFL referees have no clue how to use pressure gauges…

@GlobeChadFinn

Coming into today, Dalbec and Chavis have combined for 13 walks and 133 strikeouts.

Surprisingly high walk total…

Could have stepped the Astros of their title and the Red Sox of their Apple Bar privileges…

We better replace Richards with Houck......maybe someone will take him off of our hands for PTBNL.

He was hit hard all day.

Jonathan Schoop, Tigers 1B/2B

With 17 home runs and a .799 OPS, Schoop is having a solid offensive season for the rebuilding Tigers. He’s on a good contract -- he’s owed less than $2 million this season -- and will be a free agent at the end of the season. Schoop could opt to sign an extension to stay in Detroit, but if those talks stall, he can add some pop to a contender in need of a lineup boost.

Potential landing spots: Mariners, Red Sox, White Sox

cheap addition, can play both 1B and 2B

What about getting Boyd and Schoop?

Astros continue to shore up that bullpen. Yesterday Kendall Graveman. Today Yimi Garcia..

Are they giving up good prospects ? I mean the stros have been our daddy. It’s crazy.

I think he covers NYY profile. A lot of PWR and high K%.

Isn’t he a lefty?! They needed a lefty bat but his average is putrid lol.

.379 obp

.869 ops

25 hr

Not bad but still hitting .223 How’s that possible with a decent OBP. I mean they needed a lefty. Yankees are desperate it seems. To me he’s another left handed stanton. Strikes out a lot. That’s not why the skankees need. They have too many of those guys lmao.

Buyers!

What fools!

I don’t get it either and also gallo? They have a lot of gallo in their lineup already. They strikeout too much.

More proof that Cashman is the best thing to happen to the Sox.

July 28: Sale, Scherzer in the same rotation?

Despite Scherzer's reported preference for West Coast teams, Red Sox ownership is encouraging a final push for the 37-year-old, according to The Athletic's Jim Bowden (subscription required). The club is reported to be particularly motivated by the prospect of Scherzer backing up Chris Sale, who is nearing his return from Tommy John surgery, down the stretch.

Thank God John Henry smells another championship.

Hey my old favorite, how about Joey Votto? I always thought he'd be great in Sox uniform.

Two more years of contract left at $44.5M. He'll solve our 1B problem until Casas is ready.

Supporting a .889 OPS.

What the hell, sign Kimbrel, Votto and Scherzer.....Yeah, I've had few beers.

I guess all of them will mean clean the farm again.

What do you do when your boss says hey go spend some 'money'?

My guess is we do NOTHING.

We have a few players that need to be "trimmed" from the roster by Rule 5 & FA signing time, so we'll do something.

It might not be big or even moderate.
