On paper, this should be the hardest game to win in this series.

Cole struggled a bit before his last start, but with the Yanks hobbled by injury and disease, we should be the faves.

I'm hoping the bats wake up after a few days off and a low hit game, last night.

Cole did have 2 decent games out of the 6 prior games, but his ERA was 5.24 over those 6 games (2.40 in those two games combined).

The 3 hit shut out vs the Astros was very impressive, but I hesitate to make conclusions over just one game.

He has done well in 3 of his last 7 starts, so maybe making a big deal over just 4 bad starts is not the right thing to do, either.

Big game for him and the Yanks, tonight. A Yankee loss could wipe out any last glimmer of hope.

Cole has an OPS against our current batters of 854 through 184 PA. Eovaldi? 704.

Line is at +115 and the 4 1/2 +0.5 at -170. Those are gift lines if you ask me considering as well that the Yankees come off diminished due the COVID.

I just placed a parlay of 100 bucks which pays 1,320 if the CHW, NYM, LAD and MIN (2nd game) win as well which is very likely.

Wipe out the glimmers before Hal gives the order to improve the team

Didn’t the Steinbrenner’s shipping company just sign a huge new multimillion dollar international contract? Do they still own that company? Hal is probably celebrating the fortune they are going to make on that deal and might not be sweating the Yankees at this particular time!

Duran

Love it. Duran for Bogaerts. Cole will be shaking in his shoes. Or maybe it's Dalbec for Bogaerts, which also makes sense.

I called Kike (going forward) "the rover."

It looks like that era has begun.

I still think he starts 9 out of 10 games:

1 at SS or 3B (Bogey or Devers rests)

1 in LF (Verdugo rests or moves to RF when Renfroe rests)

1-2 in CF (Duran sits vs tough lefties)

5-6 at 1B (Dalbec sits)

I feel Eovaldi can match him if he has his good stuff.

I'm confident I'll be starting the game thread, tomorrow.

And Yankee fans need to be afraid, very afraid.

Me, I'm looking forward to a good game against ancient rivals in a good looking ballpark which, however, does not have enough roof to keep the rain off.

Well, as a minority of one, let me say I don't want no stinkin' rover era. Yes, I want to see Duran, but I expected Hernandez to go to 1B to replace Dalbec and Bogey to be the SS.

Here in Illinois we are getting the White Sox game on Fox instead of Red Sox :(

You were expecting something else?

Saturday night games are virtually always regional.

WEEI says the game starts at 8:05. They talked at length that the Yankees lead MLB in "non-rain rain delays."

Is it even raining right now in the Bronx? I am in Manhattan and no rain.

No chance of that. Eovaldi isn't that good, and the Yankees have their very best bats in the lineup tonight. I just hope Eovaldi can get to the 2d and maybe even the 3d inning without giving up more than 5 runs.
