You named two players who haven;t even played, this year and 3 teams that have nothing to do with how you have hated on the vast majority of Sox players, at some point this year. Sometimes flip-flopping from one AB to the next.

Casas is the 27th ranked prospect right now. Casas just hit .400 in Olympic qualifiers. He has a 952 OPS as of today. Dalbec hasn't had an OPS higher than that since playing in Lowell.

Dalbec will not be on the Red Sox in 2023. He's not a keeper unless his OBP gets to 330.

I think casas could be in Boston for opening day next year. (Or after super two day)

My guess would be super two day, but who knows? A lot can happen between then and now.

If we could get meaningful inputs from Duran and Casas or two from Duran, Casa and Downs after super two day 2022, we'd be looking golden.

Imagine having all the financial resources to focus on pitching (replacing or re-signing Barnes, Ottavino & ERod) and depth improvement (replacing Marwin, Santana, Chavis and others).

The rebuilding timing has been the best we could possibly hope for, if 2 of those 3 come though.

Then, on top of that, we have some outside hopes from Seabold, Houck, Ward, Mata, Song, Ronaldo Hernandez or several other promising youngsters.

We, then replace Duran, Casas and Downs with Jimenez, Yorke, Bello, Aldo Ramirez and our 2021 draftees.

It's painful watching Dalbec at bats. So far the coaching hasn't got him nearly on track. Casas has a lot of talent but is totally untested at the ML level. We just might see him in September, but until then we probably will live with Dalbec platooned with Gonzales or replaced with Chavis.

I hope Duran gets a September call up, or sooner if possible.

If we add casas and downs after super two day, then that add a lot of excitement to bogey, devers and verdugo.

I remain hopeful Hang’em Chaim will get us two superior college pitchers in this draft. Add that to what we have in the pipeline and you can see a new foundation taking shape.

Have some cocoa and go to sleep.

Funny you should post that but I was looking for Hershey's Cocoa in the supermarket and haven't seen it in the longest time. Have to settle for Swiss Miss, isn't the same.

I mentioned to someone earlier, I do not know what Hang’em Chaim saw in Hernandez!

It's not like the guy has been this bad his whole career or over the past few years.

It's also not like other top 2Bman on last winter's market are tearing the cover off the ball.

It looks like a bad signing- no doubt, but he has not even reached the 25% mark of his team control with the Sox. That can be viewed as a bad thing or as a hopeful thing, if he balances out this bad stretch with something that brings him back to his career norm.

Kike did help the Dodgers win it all, last year. He was a net plus, just months ago.

BTW, here are some numbers from other winter options (AVV x yrs):

2B

15 x 6 LeMahieu (.656 in 251 PAs)

7 x 4 H-S Kim (.585 in 156)

7 x 3 Profar (.614 in 211)

9 x 2 K Wong (.784 in 178)

6.3 x 3 La Stella (.650 in 75)

7 x 2 Kike (.654 in 184)

5 x 1 Cesar Hernandez (.684 in 245)

It's easy to say we should have signed Holt instead of Kike, but almost everyone wanted us to go larger at 2B (short term).

OF

25 x 6 Springer IL after 4 games

16.3 x 4 Ozuna (.645 in 208)

16 x 2 Brantley (.801 in 179)

12 x 2 JBJ (.504 in 186)

7 x 3 Profar (.614 in 211)

10 x 1 Schwarber (.727 in 203)

We could have signed Odorizzi, someone I wrongly wanted, instead of Richards and Perez combined!

Sounds good, but it's kind of a long shot all of our 3 big prospects will contribute positively, especially right from the start.

Yes I am sure Thad has become an awesome TJ patient...

Why rush Downs? He's not exactly lighting it up in Worcester and Arroyo has become a bit of a fan favorite...

The evaluation process he used to sign Kike is the same one that got us Perez, Richards, Sawamura and Renfroe.

So far this off-season, he’s looking at 4 for 5. And you’re complaining about the fifth guy?

It's the way of the world, these days.

(I'm not claiming I never do it, too.)

Maybe 4 for 7, if you count Marwin and Andriese.

I usually clean up weekly and delete all your dumb threads, but was slacking a bit this week. I’ve combined all your dumb threads into one. Stop making new ones. You can post your daily Franchy Cordero thoughts here or in the game thread. I don’t even get why a guy in AAA is on your mind so much...

You're right. I do that way too much.

What he does is annoying. You're enjoying the game and how well the team is playing, and all of a sudden one of Ghost's foolish 'Dump whoever' threads pops up. He's an unfunny clown.

I also find it hard to think someone can be a "fan" and have so much hatred against over half the players on the team.

I understand the frustration and the bandwagon knee scraping many fans show on these forums, but this guy just plain hates on players that are part of the team he says he loves.

Then, after one big hit, he's back to loving them until their next AB.

It's maddening, to me at nearly any level, but he takes it to an extreme.

Fair point. But still he’s done a good job. And even those two have had their moments...

...and it's still early.

Plus Andriese is not making much more than 2X min.

I'm not ready to say Marwin has been a bad signing. He is one of those flexible players that is an experienced MLer. He may well hit better as the season progresses The signs are there.
