I:f Richards could return to anywhere near the form he had over 5 years ago, this team would be viewed as "for real" by many doubters.

10 Ks and 0 BBs, tonight is a nice step. His ERA dropped below 5 from almost 6.50.

Now, close this one out, boys!

And that is that. Wow!! Very little offense but Richards and Barnes were fantastic as well as Andries. Fantastic game. Tomorrow will be equally as tough!!!

We found another way to win tonight. Pitching showed up this time.

Great to see Richards performing like this. Very, very encouraging.

Let’s go!

A very solid win. The Mets have excellent pitching, which showed, and the Sox outpitched them.

Tyler D gets a pat on the back for 2 straight.

Plus the 2021 Sox give every appearance of being road warriors.

Nice win. If Boston is going to contend this season, these are the type of games they have to win. The bats aren't going to be alive every game. Just a great display of pitching by everyone concerned.

DVR'd this game because I watched the BRUINS beat the Pens earlier.

Some of you might call this an "ugly" win, but they all count just the same

How is a 2-1 game ugly? I'd rather watch a 2-1 game than a 8-7 game.

Multiple people on here were complaining about how bad the offense was last night. I'm in the same boat as you. I would love to see us win as many games with pitching as we can

There's a certain breed of "fan" who thinks anything less than winning by something like 8-1, with no mistakes in the field or on the bases, is not good enough.

The game, last night was a masterpiece.

I was just telling my wife the same thing. I do think the Mets played better defense, but the Sox made some plays--especially JDM's assist--when needed. Meanwhile, Richards had a ton of K's--10 in 7 innings--and overall the Sox pitchers had 13 K's and 0 BB's.

Sox are now 7-1 on the road and 8-8 at home. I wonder if they play any Willie Nelson songs away from Boston.

Those 10 Ks by Richards kept the ball out of the hands of our defenders, too!

No BBs is always a good sign.

Suddenly, our rotation looks more promising than just 2 guys and 3 prayers. Pivetta and Richards have show a lot of good signs. Perez may still give us something useful.
