Bye-bye.

I hear the O's are in need of new fans.

Ozuna ain't coming here, even if we deal Beni.

Puig?

He’s like a combination of Dwight Evans and King George III...

I'm not sure how injecting insanity into our clubhouse is something we need.

Well, the Sox need his stellar RF and hitting abilities. The insanity just makes those skills more affordable...

The inanity foisted upon fans by the Red Sox -- which we embrace, laughing at our own fanaticism, ever unappreciated by the franchise -- has always been just a consonant away from sheer madness... of a duel meaning (homophone pun intended).

Blow the Budget up and trade Benny to Marlins .I demand it happen for Redsox Nation .Time to Mash if we can’t pitch .

Stop teasing us with your demise.

Ah, so that's why he has a negative dWAR.

Well, you have to imagine how bad mine would be.

I think a big factor is his reduced number of games. Hard to accrue those defensive wins when you are not on the field.

But his DRS totals are actually typically very good...

Verdugo is more than fine in RF.

We need a CF'er, and I'm not talking Beni (or Renfroe to RF & Verdugo to CF).

I doubt we can afford JBJ, unless we trade Beni for a low cost player(s) or prospect(s).

Pillar seems to fit our needs, but if we spend larger on a closer, we may have to settle on a lesser CF, hopefully one with great defense.

I know this may be squirmish for any Baseball Officer concerned about Service Time, but there are legitimate reasons to give Duran a shot sometime in '21. He won't cost anything... except an extra year of control. But that may be expendable because Gilberto Jimenez is already rated as a better prospect. Duran is 24, Jimenez 20... and after him are Juan Chacon 18 and Miguel Bleis 16. Then my son, who turns 10 in a month!

1224 innings in 2019, 0 DRS.

Sox should NEVER be concerned about service time. They have enough $$$ to retain anyone if they want to (including Mookie).

They have enough to retain anyone they want to, but not everyone they want to.

Sam Kennedy told us: "There is a way to keep both Mookie and JD..."

... but he got cut off before he said, "Dali masks and the Bank of Spain."

If they didn't re-sign Eovaldi, they would have kept Mookie. Honestly though, they should have just kept Mookie and reset later on.

thank you

Your welcome. That concludes my Ted talk about John Henry having enough money that Devers/Bogey/Betts should have spent their whole careers in BOS.

Not wanting to pay Mookie $400 million had the biggest effect of all.

Seems to be.

They should have wanted to though.

The Sale extension had more effect on the budget (and keeping Betts) than Eovaldi.

The Sale extension also had more potential to affect winning that the signing of Eovaldi.

I thought Eovaldi extension was justified. Contracts for both Sale and Porcello were coming due.

Our 2019 SP rotation looked solid on paper. Sale, Porcello, E Rod, Eovaldi and Price.

It's all behind us now. Look to the future. I really like this Bloom guy.

Not if a pending free agent prefers to play elsewhere.

Yes, Mr. Hall Monitor.

The idea is that if you show 'em enough money, they don't want to play elsewhere.
