Spot on observation Elk. Makes a lot of sense. Most broadcasters will likely still be broadcasting from home next year anyway. From what I've seen so far, it really does seem like the Sox are salivating over him, and that it's a one-sided enamoration

 

Cora not having interest in the job is pure speculation.

Of course it is. but then so is the observation that the sox went all the way to PR just for professional courtesy since neither Cora nor Bloom are saying anything but who they are interviewing. What isn't speculation is that no one can guarantee what the 2021 season will look like. And there is a lot to consider. What also isn't speculation that some in the national media have commented that Cora is certain to be offered a national broadcast job. What isn't speculation is that Boston WENT to see Cora in the PR rather then the other way around which tends to add credence to the premise that Boston is pursuing Cora not the reverse.

Yes, but even if he does want the job, it seems like the Sox want him more at this point

My guess is that Cora will be named very shortly. I think Bloom likes Fuld and is trying to help him get some recognition by making him "the first runner up."

Too reminiscent of the thoroughly perverted riddle Bilbo Baggins used to defeat Gollum in "The Hobbit". What was he hoping the creature would respond with when he asked "What's in my pocket?" Gollum deserved more credit for his restraint.
