I know. But Minute Maid might have some contention with regards to paying to have their name on display and mentioned during all Astros home games. And suddenly this FITTEAM is getting their air time.

It’s probably a bigger factor than you realize...

https://blogs.fangraphs.com/parsing-mlbs-claim-of-a-4-billion-loss/

Last week, MLB presented documents to the player’s union regarding the financial implications of playing the 2020 season without fans. In an exclusive report, the Associated Press has revealed a considerable amount of the contents of those disclosures. The main takeaways are in the title — “MLB projects $640K per game loss with no fans” — and the third paragraph, which reads:

Teams say the proposed method of salvaging a season delayed by the coronavirus pandemic would still cause a $4 billion loss and would give major league players 89% of revenue.

That $4 billion figure was echoed by Commissioner Rob Manfred on CNN on Friday, except that he indicated in that interview those would be the losses if no season is played. Given that these documents are an attempt to convince the MLPBA to take less money and to put public opinion on the side of the owners against the players, it is fair to take these figures with a bit of a grain of salt.

COVID precautions currently planned for:

During games, non-playing personnel must wear masks in the dugout and may be relegated to the stadium seats, where they must sit at least four seats apart from and two rows behind each other. Once a baseball has been put in play and touched by multiple players, it’ll be tossed aside and replaced with a new one. Between pitches, players are encouraged to be as distanced from one another as possible.

The lives of players and other employees off the field will involve many of the restrictions and protocols that have been speculated about over the last few weeks. Everyone is strongly encouraged to leave their hotel rooms as little as possible, and avoid using taxis or rideshare services when they must travel. Players must take a temperature check every day when they wake up, and again when they arrive at the stadium — if it’s over 100 degrees, they will immediately be sent into isolation and administered a COVID-19 test. Tests will be conducted on all personnel regularly, and occasionally, blood tests will be taken to determine the presence of coronavirus antibodies.

How about robot " fans " wearing Nike tee shirts ?

Even better! It would be just like 'normal' times.

The pizza throwing would be much more accurate.

Also, no fan interference during games would be great!

If they start playing to empty stadiums, the Astros will not have to bang the garbage can so hard.

Manfred will have to ban certain robots from sitting in the stands due to evidence that they helped the Stros win the WS in 2020. No draft pick loss. The robots will just be decommissioned.

The owner of the Inn in little Washington Va one this country's best and most expensive restaurants has announced that his tables empty because of social distancing will each have mannequins at each seat. BTW if you are thinking of reserving a table the average cost for dinner for two is about 650 dllrs

I know a middle class couple who spent over $1000 on their anniversary dinner at some restaurant in Vegas. I just cannot imagine.

Some one told us that the most expensive dinner for two at the Inn at Little Washington with some of their exclusive wines ran more than 25000 dllrs. The wine lists has several wines that exceed 20000 a bottle.

Marlins Classic game of the night is the Bartman game. This is soooo good.

I didn't know the Marlins had classic games

Ump also should have just called interference.

Bartman didn’t do anything the majority of fans wouldn’t have done.

Haven’t seen that on replay yet.

Really? Other than Game 162 in 2011, it's one of the few worth showing
