Urshela has crushed the ball this year. He just happens to be hurt.

Well, Urshela has crushed the ball this year against the Red Sox and their Long Island Ducks pitching staff. Against the rest of MLB? Not so much

Urshela vs. Red Sox - 1.266 OPS

Urshela vs rest of MLB - .761 OPS

How many times can a team blame injuries for all their continued woes?

Building a team of almost all injury-prone players is on the GM.

If it happens every few years, that's one thing, but this has become as predictable as the sunrise and sunset.

I think they need an overhaul on their training staff as well

Maybe all the years of secret PED usage is taking its toll.

Have you seen Luke Voit recently? I don't think there's anything secret about it

Just look at Judge's deformed head!

I rest my case.

LOL!

They have a new training staff . They fired last year's jabronis , and replaced them with the current jabronis . Same results .

No, the Red Sox don’t have the personnel. Their issues aren’t performance related, they’re personnel related. For the Yanks, it’s injury and performance. Their team is clearly good enough to win, they just aren’t right now

Sure we do. We don't have the same depth as the Yankees, but we have a 25 man roster that was good enough to compete if they had remained healthy and performed up to expectations.

Bahaha grand slam to top off that inning. At least they eliminated all hope of winning the game. Seriously they could've put a position player in to pitch that inning and they would've gotten more outs than Green/Otto. They s*** the bed x1000

Dead in the water. Green and Ottavino cannot hold a 4 run lead. Wow. Bad, bad baseball. This is not a playoff team

Time for a fire sale and 5 year rebuild?

Jordan Montgomery sucks. Why he made it this far in the Yankees rotation is a mystery to everyone except Brian Cashman. Montgomery is already 27 years old, has no upside, and is the epitome of a bottom of the rotation starter.

I hate accusing players without evidence, but I've wondered about several Yankees players too. Judge turns into a better hitter in the major leagues? That usually doesn't happen. Judge is hurt all the time, a sign of PED use. Sanchez has that inconsistency that makes you suspicious and he was buddy buddy with A-Rod. The third baseman comes out of nowhere and starts to hit with a long track record of not producing? That's suspicious.

Speaking of A-Rod, why does ESPN employ him? He has no credibility. He has lied to the public a million times about his use of PEDs. He is a proven cheater and liar and this doesn't matter to ESPN? It is really funny when A-Rod makes a comment on the character of a player. Who cares what A-Rod thinks, he is the last person to judge & evaluate character, and yet he thinks his opinion is important for some reason.

Doesn't sound like you hate accusing players without evidence

Yanks blew another one tonight . They look a bit shell shocked , to be honest . Ottavino had nothing, yet doofus Boone left him in until he destroyed his ERA for the year.

He started to decline late last season and he has carried that decline into this season. Cashman gave him 27 million over 3 years. Can we find another team that has invested more money on relievers than the Yankees? Chapman, Britton and Ottavino together are making a significant amount.

Bryan Hoch

Adam Ottavino found it “bizarre” that he & Chad Green didn't get one swing-and-miss out of their 58 pitches. “It’s an indication that either my stuff wasn’t good, my location wasn’t good or that they had something on me – they had a great approach or knew what was coming."

Rob Longley

Yankees pitchers complained of the lighting at Sahlen Field, saying it was difficult to see the catcher's signs. #Bluejays

Ottavino's ERA last year was far better than his peripherals. He was due for some significant regression.

Ottavino is a sinker, spider guy. The problem is, his sinker is not sinking. Hasn’t since midway through last year. Sinkerballers shouldn’t be homer magnets. It’s alarming

Rick Porcello was for us for most of the last 2 seasons, and he hasn't exactly been unhittable with the Mets. The sinker is a high risk, high reward pitch. If it's working, it can carry you to the Cy Young. If it's not working, and you can't fix it, you'll be out of the league in a couple years

Baltimore, Detroit, and Seattle are all within 2 games of the Yankees for the last playoff spot.

Sox should tank against the O's and sweep the Yanks.

Cashman had a meeting with Boone and the players before last night's game . A lot of good it did. They did not exactly look highly motivated. Another dismal performance. Heads will roll soon.

On the Yankee fan forum, they were talking about Cashman addressing the team, and one guy says "Someone needs to address Cashman."

To be entirely honest, after last years performance, nobody can fault Cashman for the addition of Cole and the roster coming into this season. But the underperformance offensively and the absolute collapse of a high priced pen has to be handled. The manager takes the blame here. Now maybe Blake and Thames get sent packing and Boone gets a final chance for 2021, but I’m not so sure. I’m wondering if this debacle of a season turns into Boone’s swan song
