Nearly 100 years ago the Boston Red Sox who were at that time one of the best teams in baseball sold their best player Babe Ruth to New York because their owner needed the money. Now a hundred years later in eerily similar circumstances, the Red Sox traded their best player to the former Brooklyn Dodgers. Will history repeat itself further? Will Boston now suffer the curse of the Mookster!

 

The only saving grace of this trade is that the Red Sox at least did not trade to an in division rival.

 

What compounded the folly of the Babe Ruth trade is that the Red Sox had to compete with them head to head every year and be ushered out thanks to losing the division title each year to the Yankees. There was no wildcard back in those days.

 

Losing Betts still sucks big time, but it stings a little less because we dealt him to LA.

Considering my oldest is 12, I should hope not...

 

You are still a kid yourself. We have 15 grandchildren. Our youngest are 5 year old twins. Our oldest is 25.

By chance how would the Redsox starters shape up in the ALEast with a healthy Sale Erod Bruiser Evoldi ? That’s a filthy staff when mixed in with an opener is it not ? And by chance how does a lineup of A healthy JDM ,Devers ,Xander ,Verdugo ,Benny,Vaz ? I’m not being a homer when I say this ....We slot in very well with a now injured Paxton do we not ? Can we catch lightning in a bottle this year ? What better time than now what better way to Attract Mookie back .Dont give up on this team not by along shot.We can win 98 games this year and I wouldn’t be shocked a bit . Edited by Swiharts Ghost

Is that Bruiser Eovaldi or Bruised Eovaldi. Getting him through a season without some sort of break down is a pipe dream. Sale can get through a season now since he is being protected. Erod has to go 30+ starts and 200+ innings this year. Something he has done all of once so far, 2019. I would say there is a better chance of that than Sale getting through a season without being protected or Eovaldi getting through a season at all.

When I was in my 20s I used to think that too. But now that I am in my 70s,I am not so sure.

 

I’m not in my 20’s. Anyone in their 20’s isn’t a kid.
