Thanks guys, I think? Yes this is a Sox board, but it’s pretty consistent with my day to day as I live in Mass. I am on a Yankee board too. I’ve been on a few others in the past, but some are ridiculously optimistic and even ban you for anything negative. I’m permanently banned at NYYFans after suggesting that Arod sucked and shouldn’t have been extended after his opt out. Weird.

I joined the NYYFans board just because it gives me one more place to go when I'm bored LOL. I post infrequently there and only on general baseball stuff. It's definitely tight-ass. A place like that makes you appreciate a place like this, where you can really let it all hang out.

Just got back from A&M. My daughter and her longtime boyfriend graduated with honors.

She's already got a job lined up in NYC starting next summer. We are so proud!

She doesn't care about baseball or sports.

She was searching online for apartments and found some near Yankee stadium.

She's looking all over, but yes, some in the Bronx. She's just looking at options. She won't be committing until next summer.

She will be safer in Manhatten than by Yankee Stadium. Much safer.

She will choose safe- maybe Long Island City or Brooklyn.

Yes, of course we will help her choose a safe place, but not all of the Bronx is dangerous.

With Arizona getting Bumgarner, it makes you wonder if the dodgers don’t look at trading for price.

I’d take Joc Pederson for Price yesterday .Dodgers are loaded and Price is is signed for 3 years .Lop off 11 million a year and make the trade 12 if needed .Mookie Joc Benny is a potent outfield .Benny CF Joc left Mookie Stays put .chavis 1b Pedey 2nd along with Parazza Xander and Devers .Bckup catcher go get the kid from Sandiego he had an off year with the bat and They are looking to deal kid calls a good game plays good D and has a decent bat definitely better than sandy .Austin Hedges is who I’m thinking of .

With Bumgarner going to Arizona at such a low price, I doubt the Sox can offload David Price without eating half that deal or taking back a contract that’s even more unpalatable

I'd guess we end up trading Price and JBJ. We'd have some space to add a cheap SP'er, RP'er and 1B/2B.

We could maybe trade Price for Myers and fill the 1B role- allowing Chavis to play more 2B.

I tend to agree. The question is, if the offers for Price are unacceptable what do they do?

That was the case before the Bumgarner deal. Why would Bumgarner’s deal change that?

Well, I agree with Jax that the payday for Bum was surprisingly low.

Put it this way, if Bloom liked the offers he was getting for Price he probably would have taken one by now, so he could move on to the next business.

Bumgarner is David Price plus plus. He’s younger, more durable, and coming off a better season. But they’re similar in their approach. They’re both lefties who top out around 91-92 who get by on location and movement. Bumgarner’s cost is going to set Price’s market. If the market values MadBum at $18 mil AAV, then Price’s would be well below that. Same goes for JA Happ on the Yanks side.

Bloom could have a number of deals on the table or in the works. He might be waiting for more FAs to sign, so teams that miss out become more motivated.

Other teams may be waiting to see, if they can make another deal or signing first before agreeing to trade for Price.

I don't think the fact that no deal has been made, yet means nothing is in sight.

Congrats Moon. Long Island City is as safe as it gets and great transport links for midtown. We lived there last year.

I have a niece and a nephew who live there. One is just 2 subway stops from her apartment to her job.

They/re not going to be good offers. Since the goal here is to offload cash, I imagine the deal is not going to provide anything if substance or the immediate future and possibly not ever. If the Sox can unload 80-90% of that deal, we might get the second coming of Josh Tobias here...
