Nice Workman like job to close this one. Last thing to do is walk a man and give them a chance to tie or go ahead. None of that from Workman. Barnes needs a rest. He just doesn't do well of late.

Porcello trying to get back on the “extend him” train

LOL.

More like extending the agony by giving some false hopes.

I'll say what I said before if the rotation has one good turn where all 5 of the SPs throw quality starts it could generate a streak going in right direction. We'll see, Porcello started a possible run? Go Sox!

Question: Would you rather have Workman closing out games or Kimbrel at $17.25 million had he taken the Sox 1-year extension?? Just saying.

Kimbrel just went on the IL.

Well they should sweep the Royals if I am pitching.

That’s if you were. We are talking about Sale and Price. No guarantee here lol

I hate when people say that. It's baseball. You never know when the opposing pitcher will have "that" start where everything is working. Or one of those nights where every bloop by the opponent drops in and every line drive you hit is right at somebody. The season tends to iron these things out, a single game does not.

Merrifield gets a couple hits (not an out of nowhere possibility, he's 2nd in the league behind Devers) and Soler follows with a couple homers (ditto, he's 5th overall in the AL) and all of a sudden the Royals have 4 runs on the board.

Valid point, didn't Baltimore win a series against us a couple weeks ago?

Yep. It's just the nature of the game. Asher Wowksi-something pitched the game of his life in the last game of that series.

Upsets are always possible. That does not change the fact that the Royals are one of the worst teams in recent memory . A sweep should be expected. Anything less is not acceptable.
