Dombrowski needs to get creative! Porcello for an A or B+ prospect or prospects add Groome or ERod and offer all to the Mets if Syndergaard is actually being discussed along with Wheeler

I would sell high on MHernandez Duran and Dalbec while the pan is hot for a Reliever having a good year

As little as I like agreeing with Jax I have to do it. This is what we've got and JH's apparent salary limitations mean that the only thing we can hope for is a tweak.

However, as to the window, we knew it was there. Unfortunately it may have closed a year or two earlier than we'd hoped for but as they say, FLAGS FLY FOREVER, BABY!! :D

How the #$ is the window closed when your starting OF 3b 1b SS and C are a combined age of 27?

Sale Price Porcello ERod are still formidable

If you were to say Dombrowski’s window is closing? I would agree. DD is not the GM to build through youth or the draft.

Keep your fingers crossed he doesn’t pull a 97 Marlins redux

You're not getting an A or B prospect for Poorcello.

His 2018 post season performance gets you a legit prospect in 19 regardless of stats

Contending Teams will overpay see the Cubs

No, contending teams are not paying for past performance, especially when that past performance was as an ancillary piece of a title. They look at the now and Poorcello is awful right now

1. Porcello's playoffs were not without incidents. He did let up 6 ERs in 15.1 IP (3.52), which is good, especially for him, but not so great some GM is pining for him.

2. Yes, his last 3 games have been horrible, but I doubt even a few GM base value on just the recent 3 game sample size.

12.75 ERA last 3 games

3.20 ERA in his previous 10 starts

(Maybe he has more value than some think he has, even at his $9M price tag.)

3. Only a contender shut out on better SP'ers would trade for Porcello, and it would be for a prospect.

4. The Quality Offer option may still be on the table, if Rick turns things around. If he refuses, we get a draft pick, which may be better than the prospect we may get in trade.

5. Most likely, we wait another 18-19 days and make the choice then.

Only takes 1 team..How about Padres ? They are loaded and Rick would be perfect there .

The Padres can acquire any pitcher they want. Any reason you think they need to settle on Porcello?

Since the Sox are all but guaranteed to be over the lux tax limit in 2020, the risk involved in the QO isn’t worth the 4th round pick you’d acquire

You're so stupid. Only the owner can dictate a '97 Marlins'.

I think after tomorrow in which this team will be playing 17 straight games, then by the time the Trade Deadline comes, we would have played the Yanks and Rays 9 games. That should determine if we buy or sell.

34 games in 36 days.

I see our Relivers coming out of BP, walking like the Walking Dead Characters, were their arms fall off when the reach the Mound.

If the Starters don't pick it up at least by the Deadline, the decision could be made by Performance in the next 19 days by our Starting Pitching.

If you go by the standard, our starters have gone 6 innings. So if you think about it the Relivers will have logged about 51 innings in the next 17 days, doesn't sound like a lot, but it's almost 6 full- 9 inning games, out of 17.

The way Porcello has pitched his last 3 games, he'd take the QO. The way he pitched the 12 games before that, he may not.

My point was the 4th round pick might be a better prospect than what we'd get by trading him, if he's still doing poorly by the deadline.

You keep picking probable sellers as destinations for Porcello.

Moon I would love to re up Porcello he's been solid for Boston but Dave dragged his feet and now we likely will let him go for zip ? Ohhhhh hell know .Trade the guy get teams involved and if it's trash return sure you hold on but freaking try .

The Padres are heavily involved in Syndergaard, if they want him they have the prospects to make it happen

Moon the Padres who you say are sellers are calling about Veteran Type pitchers . FYI

They are pretending. By the end of July, they will be selling.

If they do buy, it won't be for an expensive rental.

Lol your awesome .No they are actually giving a rip this year .

2 more seasons after this one

2.seasons of control right ? And you empty out you're Stacked minors ? Nahh not there style .Ricky P on a rental is there style .Rick could net a prospect of weight from the good ole Padres .

You're fishing here. When they signed Machado they basically came out and said they plan to contend in his second year and beyond. They have an ace recovering from TJS under contract for next year in Richards. They will graduate a few more prospects or use them for guys controllable to next year. They're a .500 team with an immensely bright future. Why deal for Poorcello who has sucked beyond belief this year when you could actually get someone good who is under contract for another season

Not at all .I think that's a good team and they could use Rick in the NL and could easily extend him .

But why trade for him if they are going to give him a brand new contract at top dollar? It makes zero sense.

It does happen, but I agree, we won't get much of anything for Porcello, even if he has 3 good games before the deadline.

Exactly. There may only be a handful of teams that might trade for Porcello, assuming he regains form in his next 2-3 starts.

If the Mets are shopping Syndegaard, the Red Sox should offer Benintendi and Casas. Holt and Owing could platoon in LF after we say goodbye to Benintendi.
