Yesw, and against a right hand pitcher. Something is going on, either an injury or the club senses he is getting deeper into a slump.

I think it's a combo of the two. He has a nagging-type injury and it's affecting his hitting.

Moreland, Pearce & Nunez get us nothing in trade. We'd be lucky to trade any for a bag of balls, even if we pay 80% of their remaining contracts.

ERod just turned 26 and is entering peak prime. He's the last starter I'd trade. He's cheap, and we have budget issue, especially with paying our other starting pitchers half the budget.

I also think we should keep e-rod, but wouldn't it be best if they could cure his tendency to nibble. I think he went to 111 pitches last time out and we still had to have relief pitches for 3 innings. Thats his MO, 3 and 2 on most batters. Why does he do that?

Moreland pierce nunez might not get much is true but Kinsler got Buttrey

Although a few years away Groome replaces ERod

Fat Beni came up short on a couple more diving attempts last night. No doubt skinny Beni makes both plays.

Most likely yes.. yes he does. But I am more concerned about Beni’s bat, than his glove this season.

Actually benintendi looks a lot more slimmed down in the chest area. I'm sure i'm not the only one to notice.

Beni's not hitting with authority and his body language, like throwing his bat on the ground powerafter striking out seem to indicate he is very frustrated with himself this year. He is still young and is not yet paid like he will be in future, but to put a realistic value on him we have to look at his overall game.

Defensively he is a good but not great outfielder with good speed and a good arm. Otherwise, we could say he is a good but not great defensive outfielder but he can play LF at Fenway effectively. As far as his hitting is concerned, Beni doesn't pull the ball that often nor does he have much HR power. Since he isn't a power hitter, to be of special value to us as a hitter, we need him to have a solid on base percentage but this year he has a lot of swings and misses and his BA is down and falling.

My take on a young homegrown player is that he may improve his OBP but is unlikely to ever deliver much power. As a result, he may be a player we can use for trade bait and replace him with someone at least as good. If our fortunes don't suggest 2019 will be a playoff year, it is a place to look to improve for 2020.

Beni looks worse at the plate.

Beni looks worse in the field.

Beni looks worse on the base paths.

Until last night, his arm looked worse.

Players have poor stretches all the time, even on their upside to their prime, but this total decline is very troubling.

I try not to be overly influenced by small and recent sample size, but I'm getting very fed up with Beni. He's a guy that could have taken a step up to help compensate for the likely step downs Betts and JD were going to have this season. Bogey and Devers have done their part: Beni has not.

I was an immature asshat about Benny last night .Benny is our guy I won't go so low on the insults ever again on any of our guys .Too damn old to be acting that way .He will snap back it's a very rough stretch for about everyone now .

If Dombrowski has any sense, he will package this bum out of here before the trade deadline. Seven HR on the year, and we are approaching late July. Not trying to even be cynical but ever since that “I’m a Blues fan” comment, he hasn’t been the same.

So.... sell low?

Beni is striking out and popping out a lot. He seems to lack coonfidence and is not making adjustments that are helping. He needs some coaching, but he has never really had much power and he has primarily hit to left. Can he come out of it this year? I hope so but am not optimistic.

I was on the trade Benny and now think it will just weaken our only consistent area this year ,Defense .No to trading Benny yes to Trading JDM ,Cashner ,Travis ,Marco,Mitch .

So... JD and table scraps?

I don't think we should just dump JD for scraps no .I guess I'm of the opinion there is still a few teams that may want JD.

JD might have some value. The rest of them? Not really...

Beni is 6 for his last 40. I’m sure all of those six were in absolutely clutch situations! Lol

Yeah I might get flamed for going the other way on what has been a lost year of Benny .I just can't weaken the D at this point unless there is someone of equal value Coming back .Thats my position with Benny And JBJ for now .

Let's not write him off just yet.

It all depends on how he does tonight . If he gets a couple of hits tonight , he might be okay and worth keeping . If he goes hitless tonight , he is finished and should be dumped .

Brnintendi will be fine. I’ve seen to this personally.

I dropped him from my fantasy team. That ought to fix him
