Wow....Two straight 8 inning stints by their starters (1 of them 7 2/3rd). Two completely different ways of going about getting outs....equally successful.

Right now I’d be more worried about what they are not getting out of the likes of Betts, Benintendi, etc., i.e., the guys who are supposed to be carrying this team. Bradley’s lack of offense is a concern, but they need the other guys to get going far more.

Pretty good assessment of this OF. I wish this was Mookie's contract year . He is a real letdown.

One could argue that Cash has been the best manager in baseball over the last couple seasons, including this one.

Yup, Cash was my choice last year and he was pretty far down the list as it turned out.

I wouldn't argue much against it.

Benin and Betts are hitting under 270 as well. That’s not helping.

I get it but we have to shore up that bottom of the order. Anybody capable of hitting at least .250 makes the bottom of the order less of a black hole and puts more pressure on the pitcher.

I'm not seeing a lot of beards on the Rays pitchers. Could be they are not old enough to grow one . Otherwise, I'd suggest our guys start shaving and see if that helps.

and let me just say that maybe the whole tolerance of jackie bradley hitting .188 as long as he's a good defensive outfielder has impacted this team. Think about it. This guy basically gets a free pass. Other guys kind of look at and think they can get by with less as long as they are good defensively. I don't know. I just am sick of the "atta boy" treatment jbj gets for being a well below average hitter.

Don't worry, he takes plenty of abuse for it too...

3 pitchers today who should still be at Pawsox. Smith, Shawaryn and Taylor. Brewer could use some work there too. Weber is now gone . 23 pitchers have earned stats for the Sox this year . Aside from the 5 original starting pitchers, that is 18 guys out of the pen looking for about 6 reliable relievers.

Meh...1-6 in the order has basically been about as reliable as New England Weather. If you can get that going THEN you can start to worry about 7-9.

X has been solid. Devers having a true breakout year. Thought JD was as reliable as we had until SOMEBODY put him in the OF!!!!

Taylor is looking like a real peachpit himself. Real quick off the mound. This is AAA we are watching

You are waaay overthinking the affect. JBJ has done this every year of his career. Why didn’t it affect the team any other year.

Shawaryn's tiny sample is not so bad.

You are correct on Shawaryn numbers so far. The real point is the Sox were probably not counting on him by early June this year. Maybe he can be a contributor. Taylor will be in Pawtucket before the second game starts.
