If you weren't constantly whining about it and bringing it up, they wouldn't have to defend/deny.

Right, so me stating a fact is whining and those denying it aren't. Thanks for playing.

I'm glad you agree that I won this heated sports debate. Another 1st round TKO for the peak of perfection, the zenith of TalkSox, the preeminent poster, aka me.

What if we stuck with a 6 man rotation all year long and used the starter as the closer on their throwing day between starts?

Would the less starts make up for the extra hard throwing when closing?

Is the risk too great, they will "overthrow" when closing and get hurt?

(I'm against the idea.)

For what it's worth, I like the idea.

I think that if one of the starters came down with an arm problem, the idea would be instantly scrapped.

Should the traditional "throwing day" be scrapped if the starter comes down with an arm problem?

i am ok with porcello and whomever the 6th starter is doing it.

Sale: bullets too valuable

Eovaldi: 2 TJS

Erod: made out of glass

Price: needs to save his arm for Fortnite

no. there is a difference between pitches thrown on throwing day and pitches thrown in the 9th inning of a game you are trying to save. but you know that. or not.

Are you a Cubs fan? If so, go away?

What do you care about David Ortiz? The only player that mattered to the joke "Cubbies" (cute names go with s***** teams) was one of the biggest cheaters in the history of baseball. Aren't there any good Cubs forums for you to troll? Or did they realize you aren't a real Cubs fan either?

I think BosSox should sign Keuchel (has to be cheaper than Kimbrel) and move Eovaldi to bp/closer... just for this year.

I grabbed Barnes in a mixed league and Mejia (to fill an NA slot) in an AL ONLY league, which means Brasier is probably the closer...

I love the idea because it's original and kind of fits the personnel. But you're right.

Is this you coming out as, dare I say it, our one and only lawyer who couldn't afford to lose an argument?

I retained Ryan Brasier in a rookie slot and took a flier on Jenrry Mejia at the fantasy auction, which means Matt Barnes is probably the Red Sox closer.

I have Braiser and Seattle closer Hunter Strickland in my active lineup so perhaps I'll get a save tonight.

Or not.

I refuse to have any Sox players on my team. That would almost certainly mean instant death for the players.

You people should be in the TalkSox Fantasy league.

I feel horrible for missing the boat this year, Ted. The last month for me has been filled with balancing two jobs, school, and a plethora of job interviews. Time just went by so fast and I forgot all about the league.

You can win the comeback manager of the year award next season.

I'll set my calendar now since I'll have much of the same stuff going on at this time next year.

Don't tell me you got sucked into playing again!

LOL I did. :o

There's a legit reason this year. As you know, Zac has been the commissioner of our league since we started playing. We are playing in honor of him this season.

I vote for the bullpen by committee. I have long felt the closer role and the setup system was a lazy way for managers to strategize through the last third of a tight game. Why waste the best bullpen arm for the last inning when there is no guarantee who will be batting? And why pay closer salary for 60-something innings a season? I like the old Dick Radatz fireman strategy of bringing in the best arm to put out the fires.

If the starters keep performing like this there won't be much of a need for a closer........

Three game sample sizes also say the Blue Jays are best team in the AL east
