I mean the warriors also had multiple injuries during the regular season and rested guys and didn't care about the regular season AT ALL. and the playoff formats in both sports are completely different.. and even as a warriors fan, to be fair, if chris paul didn't get hurt badly, the rockets might've won that series.

they did, but my main point was that in the nba the regular season really doesn't matter at all. seeding means nothing, we all knew that LeBron would win east this year over raptors (like really LeBron losing to DeRozan and lowry? and the year before we knew LeBron would beat IT and the Celtics. and this year we knew warriors would go to finals and beat LeBron. nba there isn't much parody at all, and the playoff system is way different. warriors even admitted during the 70+ win season that it was dumb and pointless of them to try that hard during regular season as it wore them down. that is why most great teams just coast in regular season.. in mlb you cant really do that, especially for a team like red sox where if they coast, they'll f*** up and end up playing in a 1 game wild card.

Fortunately for Mookie, MVP voting only reflects the regular season. However, I have more faith that Betts will turn his offense around than I do in the SOX starting pitching in this series. And I don't even want to think about the BP.

Yup agreed. Good points.

That game sucked. Bad defense, pathetic hitting, Ace under-performed, weird managerial moves (Workman). I don't think there is many positives...

The only positive is the Sox can’t possibly play any worse. They were terrible in all 3 aspects.

See you guys for game 2. This game was dog s***. Astros are a hell of a team.

They’re but too much butt kissing! Go out there and get bit hits! This was a f***ing winnable game and they handed the game to the stros on a platter.

Good point. But Houston astros also had injuries this year too or I guarantee they might have hit 110 wins.

And the Astros did not have the luxury of playing 18 games against the Orioles, who inflated the win totals of the other four AL East teams.

On the bright side, I don't believe the SOX can play any worse than they did tonight.

You do know whose pitching tomorrow right? Stros will be loose. This team needs to jump into an early lead.

Just got home from a business trip...are you kidding me with this lackluster ******** effort?????!!!! ARE WE even ready for this team?!!!!

Astros 4-sox 1 if we're lucky.

This is also true.
If the Sox hadn't coasted the last two weeks, they could have won 113 games. They also had injuries: Pedroia, Betts, Sale, Wright, E-Rod, Price, Devers, Barnes.... Every team has injuries. The Sox were the best team in MLB in the regular season. Whether they are in the postseason remains to be seen. They did not look good tonight but its a 7 game series.

As expected...posters quickly jumping off the bandwagon, again.

You’re right. I’ll admit I was one that lost my cool too. Disappointing game. We will rebound tomorrow. f*** I’m excited to see Price pitch some good post season baseball.

Score 2 runs is not enough to win a regular season game and especially a playoff.

Scored them on a walk and a wild pitch. Other than Mookie's useless game leadoff single, not much happening in 1-5 slots. Why Workman was out there after the last walk beats me. Then he gives up a Pesky Pole type 3 run HR. I rarely see Red Sox P.P. HR's.

The SOX BP is ___________.

Insert your own word or words.

located in right center field, right next to the winners of Game 1 bullpen.

Relying on Price to get back in the series is worrying.

Sale must be injured as he is just not himself on the mound.

Nunez is a butcher in the field and cost the Sox the first 3 runs.

The hitting was abysmal and can only get better .

Go Sox !

Game threads are frequented by some seriously depressing, whiny pricks.

Hitting the bigger problem. 3 singles!!?? Both runs were gifts.

I had the Stros in 6, I'm thinking 5 now and that's not an overreaction to last night's game. The Sox ace is not the same guy, they now go to a guy who has never gotten in done in October, then the go on the road against the most complete team in baseball. Then of course there is the bullpen.....
