Too bad they can't just take him off the roster NOW.

The team fought through 11 innings and this bum gave it up just like that. Lamentable!

Small assist from Devers set up the inning. Still, Pom has to pitch through that tougher than he did.

POM didn't put himself in the game; his manager did.

Yeah, it’s on Cora, but this bum is a nightmare every time he is on the mound.

Wasn’t easy but should have been done, I agree on Devers.

That's right. The intention was keeping the relievers healthy and let Pomeranz be the sacrificial lamb. Cora is truly evil.

... or blow his arm out for once and for all LOL!

What else is new? One thing I won't worry about in the PO's is Cora's managing. The SOX have been able to overcome it for most of the season.

105-50 record with what you say is a bad bullpen, and yet you keep ragging on Cora.

Evaluation on a lot of these kids, that's what Cora is using these games now. These are the best games, no pressure on the Fans. Just enjoy. Oakland needs 1 win or a Tampa Bay loss. So as far as I'm concerned everything is locked up. We face either Oakland or the Yanks.

Oakland had their chance during season to Catch up to Houston, couldn't do it, really doubt they catch them with 1 week to go.

If Pom makes the post season roster it can only be chalked up to a DD face saving gesture. The guy who sweeps out the clubhouse would be a more valuable asset to our pen.

Agreed that Pom has to be able to pitch through that, but had Devers made that play, it could have changed the whole tide of that inning and Pom's outing.

Just a heads up for anyone who wasn't aware. The Sox are on ESPN tonight, but the game time is 7:00, not the normal 8:00.

Ugh. More "A-Rod & The Clown Car". I can't wait to hear how much better the Yankees are than the Red Sox or how much the fans in the bleachers LOVE the Betrmans's Ball Park Mustard and potato sticks - all while there's a ball game going on.

ESPN should NEVER be allowed to broadcast a baseball game. And while we're on that topic, what in Hell are they doing with a known cheater PED user in the booth to begin with???

The midweek guys (Jon Sciambi and Dave Fleming on PBP, Eduardo Perez and Hercheiser on color) are fine. They stick with baseball and baseball related observations almost all the time and are pretty even handed about praise and criticism.

I agree the Sunday night crew is insufferable, espcially ERod who can't shut up.

Wrong game to showcase. COuldn't they pick a more interesting game? This is the final Sunday night game on ESPN.

There are no other games scheduled for tonight.

All Sunday games are fair picking to ESPN to force a Sunday night schedule. Ari/Col is one they should have pick.

How close to the actual game can they reschedule it?

They did it to the MFY this year, and cancelled it in a week. this game was picked up weeks ago.

Right, but weeks ago this looked like it might be an important game.

I just don't know how short of a notice they can give to ticketholders.

Depending how the A's and Yankems fare over their next 4 games, the 3 game SOX/Yankem series could still determine which wild card achieves the HFA. If that's the case, it will be interesting to see how the SOX will put together their line-up and pitching against the Yankems.

Here's a little poll: please choose who you would prefer to play in the opening round? And yes, because of the big differences in the ballparks, I believe HFA will make a significant difference. I would prefer the SOX go against the A's.
