His stuff can’t play with all these walks.

What’s amazing is his last 2 starts (so far) are winnable games. Not sure how it’s happening but he somehow manages to get out of these innings with horrible damage.

Poms just keeps getting out of these innings.
He is a pitcher who needs to get 1 or 2 DPs to have a successful outing, but it is almost always ugly.

OK OB I know you are trying to make one of "your" points here. But criticizing Randy Johnson won't earn you many credibility points.

With his lack of stuff and to keep from getting killed, POM s/b pitching from behind a screen.

Your stuff on the board is better than Pom's on the mound.

Very true. He’s also lucky we’re playing the Jays and not the Yankees or Astros.

For a 113 win pace club we got s*** players on the team.

Look at the bulk of teams wearing MLB unis and there is your answer.

Nunny loves to swing that lumber. I am absolutely sure he had no idea where strike 1 was going to finish

Games change day to day, but what doesn't change is the terrible umping behind the plate. I wonder if the league notices and if they actually care?

I think as a group they have actually gotten worse if that is possible.

When a pitcher makes his living throwing sliders or curves, do you think you might be more reluctant to swing since the pitch rarely finishes in the strike zone. JBJr got caught on a marginal call , but Nunez chased a bad pitch, as if that was new.

Maybe it's all this endless humidity in the northeast...

Regardless if Poms is bad or not (which he is) the Jays still only have 2 runs. This is a very winnable game but offensively we suck right now. That is the biggest problem tonight not Poms. Need to put up some runs.

That's an interesting comparison... could run a 100 page thread with.

I guess we will just have to see how much time JD gets to devote to his hitting when and if he has to spend over an hour each game day just trying to get an achilles freed up enough and two feet freed up enough so that he can actually move.

It certainly seems to be declining in accuracy and most importantly consistency within each game. I am sure somewhere in league/MLB offices there are stats being kept but the U union probably shuts it all down from the public.

I would think the high and low pitches would be hardest to nail, and also hard to be consistent with.

There are published stats and I used to keep track of one or two umps per season that I particularly just hated. But somebody would have to be diligent enough to create a spread sheet and record the ump tracking material season by season and I just don't have the energy for it. Nobody publishes the year over year data, just current year.My general impression though is that they are worse. Just as many of them running around with rotten attitudes and more of them running around that are flat incompetent.

Sounds like a good job for MOON.

I'm getting the game on the Toronto feed. As I've posted before, you guys who get NESN should feel fortunate to have OB, Remy, and ECK.

Its Lyons and OB tonight. They can be a chore because they actually don't like each other.
