Kelly BAA is .194 but his ERA is 4.31?? Strange....

You could pitch 1 inning, have a BAA of .250 and an ERA of 9.00. Those two stats are apples and oranges

Don't take much for Relievers, not a lot of innings. Also that shows batters hit when it matters against him, that's no good.

I don't think you know what being positive means

Sorry but seen too much over the years to be a sophomore cheerleader for professional athletes

Well of course you can....but its not the norm. Generally guys with a low BAA have a low ERA too.

I am positive that as a MLB relief pitcher Joe Kelly regrettably has become an ass clown walking 2, given a 9-1 lead. If this is playoff caliber pitching , I am wrong

That is a great line. Lol.

Btw. w/o mentioning names, how much baseball credibility should be given to a poster who thinks Barnes sucks?

In Boston it would be said that "Your an instigatah".

Lol.

I like Devers but all of his throws that I saw (4?) him throw were poor.

On the positive side today I learned that Pearce can pick it. If not for him the Tigers would have had several more men on base.

If the sucky Thornberg can pitch as he pitched today, it could be huge.

I want to know who to blame for the 3rd base running gaff. I think it was the coach who f***ed things up.

I like wins.

The only problem with winning 2 of 3 in a series is that it actually reduces the overal winning percentage of this team. Fairly amazing. It's like Betts could go 2 for 6 and lower his average.

That's kind of insane, isn't it?

At any rate, I'll take it.

Kelly still can't be trusted, although he may have had an easy inning had Lin not committed the error on an easy play.

^^This.

Kelly didn't help himself out after that, but that error might have changed the entire complexion of the inning.

I blame the 3B coach for that one. Looked like Xander could've scored, and he was originally waving, which Devers saw and started running, then held up Xander (I don't know why, he probably scores). It ended up not mattering at all, but still, Febles needs to be better, he's had a lot of issues.

By the way, Pearce has been an excellent addition, he can rake, play multiple positions and seems like a solid base runner, defender and a great guy/teammate. Very good get.

Reminds me of an old joke dating back to when there was smoking seating on airplanes.

Attendant: "Welcome to American Airlines. Would you prefer smoking or non-smoking?"

Passenger: "I don't smoke, but I'd prefer the smoking section."

Attendant: "Why is that? You must realize that's not the healthiest area to be seated."

Passenger: "Thank you for your concern, but that's where the interesting people are."

IOW, the game thread is where the interesting people are.

And even in some cases where they aren't anymore! lol
