Not close at all. He was only a stride from 3rd when the RFer fielded the ball.

His defense and base running ability alone should earn him a spot on the team. He could be a very useful bench piece.. I know its early, but I'm starting to think Holt should be the odd man out.

It actually wasn't him, it was the other announcer. Thorne didn't really have a comment on the play, other than saying it was dangerous.

Same here. At the least it's precautionary and the temperatures do not help at all.

Earlier in the game I thought seeing Velasquez get through 5 full innings was a big goal. In spite of Alvarez hitting the 2-run HR, Velasquez going 6 complete seems more realistic.

This team is a shell of its former self though, so I'm not enjoying the beat down NEAR as much as I should be!

I agree, I let him go one more inning, any trouble, get him out. He did his job.
