Off to a great start. Pitching has definitely been our strong point. Love what I am seeing from the rotation. Especially yesterday Porcello looked pretty solid. 3-1 to start the season!!

Do not understand what took so long to throw a breaking ball. Before that changeup, 14 straight fast balls. Either Vazquez is calling the wrong pitches or the bench is. First two out, Kelly mixed in breaking balls, so, obviously, he was told to stop doing that.

Looked to me that the calls were coming from the bench? (At least Vasquez seemed to be taking a look between pitches). No matter: no one expected that final change-up!

Cora's pen was spent, so he had to go to Kelly. He had to let him move on from the last game. He needs to be able to depend on him and that last game has to be festering for Kelly.

It is always good to take 3 of 4. Cora can put his Opening Day mistake in the rear view mirror. The hitting will come around. After Sale and Price, it is hard to know what we have with the other guys, because Tampa is a terrible team. Facing the Marlins is not going to be a great indicator of what we have with our pitching either. The first good offense we will face will be the Yankees. Hopefully, Sale and Price will be lined up to start against them.

Kelly has a way of making watching the Sox way more stressful than they need to be.

But I’ll take a win any day of the week,

He is one of those guys who has an arm and stuff that indicates that he should be very successful, but he is frustratingly inconsistent.

10 runs in 4 games, but we're 3-1. Starting pitching has been fantastic. I'll take it

Two HR's in 4 games and one of those an inside the park type. At this rate we are good for 81. Not the power we will need to beat the better teams.

Bellhorn pointed out that it's hard to score in the Trop. Plus, the Rays have always pitched well. Let's see how these two games in Miami go before we jump to conclusions about the offense.

We are picking up from last year and that play cost us a run.

Thought I remembered Holt being quite a lot faster. Out by a mile. Is he a little heavier than he used to be?

Holt has always been a pretty heads-up base runner, but I'm not sure he was ever fast. That being said, he does look slower.

I know that he was never what we would consider fast but I never saw him as sloth like either. Pretty sure most when have been thrown out on that one but he literally had no chance.

Yes, I agree. Maybe our 3B coach did not realize how much he's slowed.

I don't know if the weight he gained was gained the right way or not. I also am hoping that although we have all heard about how hard Benintendi worked to get stronger during the off season, I am really hoping that it translates into good hitting. It can but it doesn't always work that way. I'm hoping that they will hit but I am not an unquestioning believer that what we saw out of some of them last was not who they really are. They need to hit!

Despite the somewhat slow start on offense, I think we'll be just fine, barring major or multiple injuries.

My guess is that one or two from Betts, Devers, Beni and Bogey will have a huge year. Id JMart can stay healthy and put up 2017 numbers over more PAs, we should score a lot more runs this year.

When will we see these men actually be the players we expected ? 4 games in and counting .

I don't think that you have to worry about JD. He drove a couple shots this weekend. He will hit. As for the rest of the gang, let's hope - lets go.

I think that 3 of the guys you mentioned will be just fine. The guy named beni - I hope to hell so. He looked somewhat weak to me regardless of how his newly acquired strength is supposed to help him. We need him to hit. JD I think will be fine. I'm worried about the rest of the boys. I'm a show me what you got kind of guy and I do not think that a team with just 4 or 5 solidly productive hitters is enough.

His ball stays on one plane. Batters can time it out.
