I think it might help slightly, but i agree. I think our offense wouldhave been much better had we signed Duda or Morrison, instead of JMart.

The way Moreland is hitting...maybe not.

I know that you and I were on the same page in terms of having many of our players rebounding offensively this year. For me, it wasn't just possible, it was very likely to happen. Expected.

I don't, if your talking about JD Martinez. Morrison, and Duda, wont even come close, by end of year, in production. Unless their is an injury to JD.

moon meant it would have been better than it was last year.

I expected it, too.

JMart is just added butter.

A case of buttah!

I'm going to get caught up with "The Walking Dead."

Bail out. That show sucks ass.

Watch Into the Badlands instead or some other AMC shows . Walking Dead walks in circle and nothing is happening.

one of my alltime favorites. the final couple episodes this season were excellent IMO.

Magic Number down to 140.

Well the wind is a bit out of my sails now. I'm looking forward to getting Bogaerts and Pedroia back. I'd also like to see Swihart at catcher.

I was wondering when someone would suggest we start Swihart as catcher with our whopping .440 catcher OPS, but I'm fine with continuing as is.

Opponents have a .600 OPS against us this year, and I think Vaz & Leon have a lot to do with that.

MLBTR suggest this guy as a possible replacement for Elias on the 40 man roster...

Left-hander Daniel McGrath, 23, could be another eventual option who’s gotten off to a strong start in Double-A, though he’s not yet on the 40-man roster.

Steven Wright left his first rehab assignment with the PawSox early due to stiffness in his back on April 20. Bill Koch of The Providence Journal noted that Wright was making his first start for the PawSox since July 12, 2015 but may find himself making more appearances with the Triple-A club due to the current logjam in the Red Sox starting rotation.

it could also be the 74.5MM we are paying our current starting 5 for 2018......

not like we scrimped or pulled starters off of the scrap heap.....

It has a lot to do with their skill level, yes, but I truly believe a good catcher can maximize a pitcher's performance to a noticeable degree.

Not a big fan of Wright....I hope his stay in AAA is long and prosperous.

Elias traded back to the Mariners for a PTBNL.

Player to be blamed later... nice:D

I’ve always had major issues with TWD, but I’ll wind up finishing it. AMC got rid of Rubicon for TWD which always pissed me off. AMC’s The Killing was fantastic.

I'm not trying to say that Morrison or Duda are better than JD.

I'm just saying that the rest of the batters would be seeing similar improvements over last year even without JD in the line up.

Got data to back that statement up?

Probably not what you're looking for, and a two game sample size on one side of the equation makes me shiver, but here's something...

Runs scored in non JMart games :14 in 2 games (7 per game)

21 Hits and 7 BB (14 H + BB/ game)

Runs scored in JMart games: 110 in 19 games (5.8 per game)

186 H + 65 BB (13.2 H + BB/game)

(Note: The with JD games incuded extra inning games, so those numbers are actually worse than they look....less runs and hits per inning)
