I don’t disagree that Judge has come up small, but how can anyone look at that play and blame it on Judge? Didi got the ball and if he throws anything in the air from second, Altuve is out by 10 steps. If Sanchez fields that ball, Altuve is dead.

True.

The play is 100% cut 4. there is no league above 10U baseball where that throw should go to 2b with the winning run circling the bases. where the batter ends up on that play is irrelevant. the fact that Didi didnt complete the play is because that play shouldnt have ever gone through him. that is the first baseman's throw to make. if the throw is cut 4 the 3rd base coach would never ever ever have waved Altuve home. the second he saw cut 2 he waved his arms like a windmill on a tropical storm day.....

Slash, he was running towards centerfield and cut the ball off. Throwing the ball to the 1b, who at that point would have been near the pitchers mound, is ridiculous. I get what you are saying, but he stopped the ball on the run in almost centerfield and threw it in with enough juice to hit Gregorius in the chest. Didi then turns to throw home, is thrown off by Correia popping up at 2b and spikes the ball to Sanchez who doesn't field the routine ground ball throw and allows the runner to score. Judge did a really good job there cutting it off and getting it in. If the SS and the catcher cannot execute and easy throw, catch and tag, then that's on them. If Didi lobbed the ball home, Altuve is out. He was dead

Watching the game with a couple of Yankees fans (one from Mass), I did call the Judge HR, so I am proud of that

They don't quit. CC is reviving his career this postseason as well. What a performance. We need Gray to remember that he used to be a playoff ace and he is still in his prime tonight. Tying this series would be amazing.

I hope they give a new contract to CC maybe a 2/20 plus incentives. He loves NY and I'm sure he will come back, if offered a new contract.

He's a stopper and a great presence in the clubhouse

Need some reverse mojo for tonight's game. C'mon guys, let's hear how Gray is gonna get lit up!!

Gray is gonna show everyone he really is an ace!

Actually what I would expect to see is Houston facing Gray/Green/DRob/Kahnle/Chapman.

I’m on the fence mostly because I want Otani and I’m not sure how much more our overweight, arthritic kneed, postseason hero has left beyond this October.

I was in the fence too, but after this postseason I want him back, I don't think he will be really expensive and it works as insurance in the case Tanaka opts-out of his deal. Somehow I'm not really optimistic Otani will end up in the Bronx this offseason, in fact I'm not sure he will be posted.

We shall see. I think CC goes back to the bay area

I don't know about that, he bought a house in CT and I believe he's happy with the Yankees

If not I think the Giants are a good fit and he likes the NL

If nothing else, these playoffs have shown me how I put such an unhealthy amount of mental energy into hoping the Yankees lose. It's something I need to examine and step back from a little. Their winning has no real significant impact on me. The sun will still rise, life will be pretty much the same. Fortunately, I don't have many Yankees fans around me to suffer from their gloating. But really, the amount of passion that fans across sports pour into it has a negative downside at times.

167 errors in a thousand and change games. He has some way to go to beat Herman Long who - holy s*** - had more errors than RBIs.

I thought you were kidding, I just looked it up - Holy s***

Can't stand the stankees but those guys have a no quit attitude to them. Wish our team had played like that in the first two games of the astros series.

Yankees didn’t show much the first two games of this series either. Funny what good pitching can do.
