CC already taken out after 57 pitches. MFY don't let their starters totally s*** the beds and lay in it like Farrell.

Turns out CC's knee is acting up and he may be headed for the DL.

dominating pitching performance last night. First you get a big dose of Sale then you have to deal with Kimbrel. My oh my. Glad JBJ got that little base knock late. A little redemption for him.

Nunez would be incommunicado half the time.

Same with Hanley.

The way our guys keep forgetting how many outs there are, I'm starting to wonder if some mischief-maker is slipping some cannabis into the pre-game meals. ;)

DO isn't good enough to carry stiffs like Boggs.

I had the Rays feed last night, so I didn't get a chance to hear him. That is probably a good thing though. Much like with Damon, I have a hard time looking at Boggs.

The Rays guys were actually uncharacteristically complimentary about both Sale and Kimbrel, although they credited Sale with his masterful pitch selection when it is Leon who selects all the pitches for him.

What job? He was in foul territory down the 3d base line. Nothing he said or did would have made have made a difference because by the time JBJ would have seen him, he would be dead meat.

This was a pure mental lapse. This one's on Jackie.

A beastly effort by Sale.

Sale and Kimbrel were absolute pitching dominance. It was a thing of beauty.

Chalk one up for Dombrowski.

We need a baseball channel that only follows the first and third base coaches the entire game...... I'd be glued to that right now..

LOL Post of the game thread right here!

I swear to God...sometimes I think those guys read Talksox & then bring it up on tv! LOL

Nah, Eck has been talking about the rising fastball for the past several games now, which is why I brought it up in the first place. It was already a topic on the telecast before we started discussing it.

Leon called a great game. Given CV's struggle with Sale last time out, I think we keep Leon around no matter what.

Or two, possibly.

I have no problems with our catching tandem. I would be perfectly fine going with the same duo next year.

Probably. I have given credit to Dombrowski over and over again for the team he put together for the 'window'. I have always said that we have a very good team for the short term, and have found myself defending him on numerous occasions. I give credit where credit is due.

That said, the impending cliff is an entirely different matter. ;)

I've always been a huge believer in how much a catcher influences a pitcher's success or not. The old CERA arguments got out of hand as many used the numbers inappropriately. CERA should not be used to compare catcher across the league or from different teams and different years.

That being said, here are the Sox CERA numbers: (Note: some small sample sizes here due to the personal caddy nature of our catcher usage.)

CERA (IP)

Having Chris Sale pitch at the Trop is like forcing Mozart to perform at the Meadow Glen Mall food court. Or something close to it maybe.

Kimmi you are dead on about looking at Bogs. Last night he looked like a homeless man that someone had slapped a suit and tie on and given a mike to. It was almost uncomfortable to look at him.

Now his enunciation was poor but he did say many insightful things. He did not suck.

Just turn your back when he is on screen!

I still want to attend a game at the Trop. Just so I can experience it.
