.571 OPS. You have to be Ozzie Smith to be worth rostering hitting that badly.

Nah, Smith was a .666 OPS guy.

Absolutely nothing there offensively. Can't get back home fat enough after this series.

They're already psyched for the plane party.

My favorite thing to come out of yesterday is people (not on here) saying "Price is a nice guy. He's always posting pictures of his dog!"

Since All-Star game this team is hitting .210. Shut Out 9 times this season. Pitching is keeping us in this thing.

Hey - you should know by now that batting average is a uselessly outdated statistic - lol

On Base % is .275 2nd worst in the Majors, since break.

That is a telling stat.

Good luck to Devers, he's going to need it.

Mariners scored, so that's probably game

It is sad. I try to be optimistic, but I have found myself thinking the same way. As soon as we get down, even by one run, I'm thinking that the game is over.

I don't like thinking this way. My baseball spirit has been broken.

Somebody please snap me out of it!!!

Rodriguez has to pitch better than this.

Rodriguez was not the problem. He wasn't great, but he was decent enough that most offenses can make a game out of it.

Hopefully Devers will provide a spark to the team. Outside of that, he is not going to be able to 'save' this team. Everyone on the offense is underperforming right now except for Pedroia.

This.

E-Rod didn't have his best game but far from bad...... Literally 4 runs last night from Seattle...... If this offense had guts and would snap out of their funk we should be able to win games like this where our pitchers are having a slightly off night. Pitching is not the problem with this team and never has been..... It's the offense plain and simple. It takes our pitchers throwing a near perfect game like Price had 2 starts ago and Sale being perfect. If they don't have a near perfect game this team just can't win......

I guess Marrero isn't that bad after all.

He's a -0.1 WAR player. His bat is just embarassingly bad against RHP. He's decent against LHP (.949 OPS) and could be a fine platoon option.

Someone posted that the team OBP since the break is .275.

I was making a comment comparing this stat with Marrero's OBP.

My comment was sarcastic yet valid.

You are a bean counter. I am shocked that you did not catch this.

Shocked I tell you!

Agreed. It's sad when I feel like our team is out of the game when they get down by even one run. This is not good.

Marrero's OBP is an even worse .253! .214 against RHP!

YUCK

@PeteAbe

Monday was the fourth time in team history the #RedSox had no runs, no walks and 12 or more strikeouts. Last happened in 2001.

Manny and Nomar were probably out with injuries.

LMFAO at Manny/Nomar...so true...or don't forget the Jimy Williams "mandatory rests." Farrell and Tito did the same but problem was when Jimy did it it was usually when the Sox couldn't buy hits from anyone other than Manny/Nomar.

Nothing like Carl beating his chest like he reached a milestone on the hit off Moose. I have to admit that was fun to watch (saw it on TV live) considering it was ruining a Yankees' perfect game. Didn't need to see another Righetti no-no.

Izzy Alcantara had one of baseball's all-time meltdowns in the minors. I think he took his bat and started swinging it at the pitcher and all hell broke loose.
