I'm not actually suggesting to trade Mookie Betts, but say we were going to, what players would you demanding if we had to? I see this posted a lot on other sites for example I've seen Dodgers fans play "what would you trade Kershaw" for? and usually its 1-3 names if any

For example, If I were to trade Mookie Betts, the only guys I'd accept in a trade for him would be Mike Trout, Bryce Harper, maybe Clayton Kershaw, that's it among all the players in baseball

What wouldabout

This is a real non-starter. Back before we invested so much in pitching I might have said I'd only trade him for a cost-controlled ace-type starter.

Now Mookie along with Benintendi look like the cornerstone players we need to lock up.

It's meant to be a fantasy. That being said, if you had to deal Betts, then you're in rebuilding mode. I'd assume a bunch of high level prospects

Betts to Dodgers for Bellinger, Urias, Alvarez and Toles.

For what it's worth, last July FanGraphs columnist Dave Cameron ranked Mookie Betts seventh on his trade value list:

http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/2016-trade-value-1-to-10/

On the basis that #'s 2-6 have less service time and are further away from FA. It would be interesting to see where he'd be ranked if they all had the same service time. Lindor, Bryant, Seager, Rizzo and Correa are monster talents though.

Trout is #1 and has similar service time to Mookie. I wouldn't trade Mookie for Trout because of the increased salary. Trout is a far better player, but Mookie is a huge bargain for what he does.

You understand that Harper is basically guaranteed to be a Yankee, right?

last week it was Machado, this week it's Harper

I'd be really happy if the Yanks went back to signing everyone. It makes their postseason failures more enjoyable and would add more heat to the rivalry.

Why not both?

'cause both is next week. You're jumpin' the gun on me here.lol

Depending on how our development has moved along, there is a possibility it is both.

That being said, by then Gardner will be gone. Ells will be on his last legs. Hicks who knows. We have Frazier to pair with Judge in the OF. We have other OF prospects, but none close enough to expect them to don a Yankee uni. Plus, Harper in YS would be deadly. Machado has a shot for sure, but we've already got a young IF with Torres likely to be at 3B or SS soon. Our need might be in the OF more so than the IF. And I also think Harper is a lot better

But how will he fit in the lineup with Trout, Machado, Ted Williams, Ty Cobb, Babe Ruth, Willie Mays, Hank Aaron, Stan Musial, and Roberto Clemente?

Teddy Ballgame - DH

Babe Ruth - C (actually started career there)

Stan the Man - 1b

Hammerin Hank - 2b

Machado - SS

Mays - 3B

Cobb - LF

Trout - CF

Harper - RF

Clemente - UTIL

I don't think I'd legitimately trade Mookie for anyone outside of Trout. Trading a young stud for prospects is huge risk and isn't worth it. I doubt those prospects would amount to what Mookie already is, an elite, cost controlled MVP candidate.

The two position players who would be totally off limits in trade talks are Betts and Beni. Both are foundation players. Bogaerts is close to that status as well. I hope to live long enough to see another team that can compete for the world series and expect both Betts and Beni to be on that team.

Nobody - he's a Top 10 player. Unless this team falls apart to a degree you are actually trying to rebuild - there is nobody.
