The Cubs are under .500, and their starting pitching is a big culprit behind that. Here's to another 108 years of futility.

I am surprised at how poorly the Cubs are playing this year. It's an enigma. Lester did not even make it out of the first inning the other day.

Fire the GM!!!!

This is totally unacceptable!

Actually, I would fire Maddon. He clearly lost all of his managerial skills from last season.

On an unrelated topic, Rodon for the White Sox had a very bizarre line this afternoon where he gave up 4 runs in 4 innings. What's odd about that? 11 of the 12 hitters he retired were via strikeout, the first time that's been done since ever probably.

The batting circle thing was funny.

I am sure most of us wish we had him back in Boston.

We let him go so we could keep old man Youkilis and then have the right to trade Anthony Rizzo for Adrian Gonzalez. The Red Sox are lucky they can keep a high payroll, because Theo, Cherrington, and Dombroski would have had this team in the cellar the last decade.

Nationals whack 5 home runs in the second against the Brewers. That lineup can score. And they lost Eaton and Turner to injuries.

3 world championships and 5 ALCS appearances isn't all that bad...

That's why I mentioned the payroll. We've made a lot of bad trades involving position players for relievers.

I thought it was comical but that ump had a short fuse.

@MikeyY626

On deck circles are slippery. Nobody stands on them. Can't pick and choose when you enforce it. And if you do, don't pick a respected HOFer.

Will Little just threw a pitcher and catcher out of game on the same close pitch. Embarrassing. Bring on robot umps

@davelozo

I had never seen someone ejected for dragging an on-deck circle so thank you Adrian Beltre

Don't know what Stroman said, but the graphic shows it's clearly a ball. Maybe the ump was inconsistent throughout the game. Tossing Martin as well seems ridiculous.

I was watching the game. Stroman was talking to himself.

An umpire told Adrian Beltre to get in the on-deck circle, so he picked up the circle and brought it to where he was standing. He got ejected.

That might be the funniest thing I have ever seen in baseball. I just watched the video, and some guy in the front row of seats was laughing so hard he could barely breathe. Even the umpire who ejected him looked like he was trying not to smile.

The fact that the ump would try, for some odd reason, to enforce that rule when it's never been enforced before (to my knowledge) is ridiculous.

Beltre's response was hilarious.

This guy is winning MVP. How does such a little guy hit the ball like that?

He's freakishly strong, and had a super quick bat. He's a better Dustin Pedroia.
