You have an elite talent who's stock was down due to an off field concern. We got him for literally nothing. We dealt him for a top 5 prospect, a former top 100, and the main cog in the deal to get Castro. The Miller deal was awesome as well. Frazier is a tool box who hasn't reached his ceiling, but Sheffield might be he big get there

An 'off field concern' indeed. You got him for nothing because other teams didn't want to touch a guy who terrorized a woman like that. Makes me sick, sorry. Oh well, you're paying him big now. Hopefully those issues don't return.

We are paying him big now, but even if he goes off the deep end and ends up imprisoned, that initial move was genius. Nobody was talking about him beating his GF when he was winning the world series.

Teams weren't willing to take a chance on him 2 seasons ago because they thought he could get jail time and/or a year long suspension. Had teams known that he would only get a one month suspension, I'm sure more teams would have been interested, and the asking price would have been much higher than the bag of peanuts that the Yanks traded away for him.

Don't get me wrong, Chapman is a scumbag. But he is a scumbag who was not found guilty of any crimes who can throw 103 MPH. Given the chance, I don't believe a single team would take the moral high ground and refuse to sign him (at the right price).

I was.

Others should have been.

But, we live in a world where serial abusers get elected president, so it's not surprising.

I'm with you Moon. I watched the WS and when he came in I said to myself why and how can this guy be here?

But hey, we are all being desensitized by normalized amoral activities. As you said.

I hope they get a big head about it, because we can't hit anybody.

That's a bit unfair to say. Even if you are in a slump, both pitched extremely well and have great talent.

We stink. We scored 4 runs for Sale in 5 starts. We faced other pitchers who dominated us. They caught us in a cold spell. Don't be surprised if both of them them get lit up in their next starts.

Happy to see Didi back in action. Sanchez should be back in two weeks or so. Romine has been doing a fine job. Hopefully Bird starts getting it together, im still a huge fan and he's been looking better in ABs lately.

This has been one of the more fun Yankees teams to watch lately.

Meh, the fun of this season brings me back to the mid 90s. Not because I expect a dynasty, but because we are watching a young core develop. Our pitching has really carried us to this point, and if we can cement two spots in our rotation with kids, then that's a win for sure

I hate to say it but I don't think these Yankees aren't going away. If I had to put money on it right now I'd say they make the postseason.

I'm not going there yet. We have a lot of raw talent, but growing pains are to be expected. One thing is for sure, I am enjoying the hell out of the start. This is the first season in a long time where I have literally no major expectations for this club. So far so good for the old guard mixing with the baby bombers

Girardi's a good manager, too, IMHO. I don't know why he gets slagged by some people. He always seems to get the most out of what he's got.
Posted
He gets ragged on simply because he's managed a $200+ mil team every year and has missed the playoffs three of the last four seasons. It's not his fault that the big names stopped doing steroids.
