I know it's foolish of me to think that the Yanks will suck again once Sanchez is back.. but going 14-3 without him is pretty crazy.

Sanchez is a transcendent talent. Our offense is riding high right now, but Sanchez will allow it to sustain when some guys cool off.

 

I am just giddy over Judge, though. Last yr, his approach was entirely awful. This year, he's not waiting until he's down 0-2 to swing. He's hitting his pitches and laying off the bad ones. I'm hopefully that Bird can get it going, but his approach is terrible. I know he walked three times, but we might be better off allowing Carter some run and sending Bird down for a couple weeks

There used to be a poster on another site who swore up and down that the Yankees were imparting subliminal messaging to both their own players and to the opponents players. I used to think he was nuts, but now I'm not so sure. It certainly makes sense. LOL

I blame bad situational hitting for the loss, not Girardi. Leaving 16 men on base is not a winning formula. And two straight innings of men on 2nd & 3rd with zero/one out, and we end up with 0 runs.

Severino is learning how to pitch without his best stuff today. He really can only locate his changeup. Hope he can gut out another 2-3 innings

Sevy got through 5. I'd be reticent to allow him to go further. His stuff is still lights out, but he couldn't locate s*** today. A few tough pitcher saved his ass

Girardi is being a f***wit. Severino barely escaped the 5th, has no f***ing command and allows him to pitch the 6th. 2 more runs and we are on the edge of being out of it. f***ing dumb. When your starter has nothing, don't ride him into the 6th in a close game. Second game in a row he was a dumbshit and f***ed it up.

I get that our pen is short, but we just called up Cessa and he easily can give you the 6th and 7th. If he fails, then so be it. But you knew what Severino was throwing today and you knew he was hanging on by a thread. Now, the game is effectively over

We stink. We scored 4 runs for Sale in 5 starts. We faced other pitchers who dominated us. They caught us in a cold spell. Don't be surprised if both of them them get lit up in their next starts.

As I expected, Severino got lit up in his next start. He just caught our hitters when they were ice cold.

As I predicted, Jacko. And don't be expecting any more complete games out of Tanaka. I expect him to get lit up too.

You're probably going to be disappointed there. Tanaka was awful first two starts, he'll end up on a roll. Severino had been so impressive his last 3 starts. You had to figure he'd not have all his stuff forever. The thing Girardi f***ed with was this kid's confidence. Sevy clearly had nothing yet got us through 5 allowing only 2 runs. Instead of pulling him then and giving him a thumbs up for hanging in there, he got greedy and it burned us. We weren't hitting Estrada, we never hit Estrada. But a 2-1 deficit is a lot better than 5-1 when facing a nemesis. He very clearly f***ed up and I called it in the thread.
