Yankees now have 7 of the top 100 based on MLB and 7 based on BA with the final guy being different on each one. Sufficed to say, we have 8 of the top 100 or so prospects in the game. We will be adding to this. Every single fan that roots against us needs to be wary. This is exactly what we have needed to do for a long time. If done appropriately and then filled in by using our monetary advantage, the Yankees will rise again

Yankees doing what the Red Sox should've done two years ago. Instead of trading for prospects we dealt for f***ing Joe Kelly and Allen Craig...

Well, the sox wanted immediate big league guys!!?!

The currency to get young talent is prospects. Either you grow them or you deal them. Finances aren't a method of team building anymore. Even the Dodgers with their insane payroll have a great farm system. And we just got two top 25 prospects and a top 100 prospect plus a bunch of other guys who have a big league future for two relievers. Two great relievers, but two relievers none the less.

BTW, I really like Heller as a sleeper here. The guy is dominating AA and AAA with 100mph heat and a plus slider. The guy should probably just come to the bigs now and learn on the job

If we are going to do this right, we have to finish the deal.

We must move Beltran. He should bring in a serious haul as the best offensive piece on the market.

We must move McCann. He is a 33 yr old backstop, that is usually when the catchers turn into 1b's, DH's, or pumpkins.

We must move or cut Tex. If someone wants him, then take him, otherwise sayonara. And it hurts me to say that as he was my favorite player

We must cut the AFraud.

We must deal Nova

The events above, obviously dependent on who we get should set in motion the following.

Moving McCann allows us to call up the #2 catching prospect in baseball, Gary Sanchez. The kid can hit for average, power, patience and has significantly improved his receiving

Moving Tex allows us to bring up Tyler Austin for an audition. Once a top prospect, he was derailed for a few yrs with wrist injuries. Now, he is killing the ball in AAA

Cutting ARod allows me to not see his f***ing face anymore.

Dealing Beltran allows us to bring up one of our OF prospects. In a perfect world, that is Aaron Judge, but he's hurt. I'd take Gamel, Cave, etc and give them a shot. Tell Aaron Hicks to GFY as well

Dealing off Nova allows us to bring in Severino and give him his spot back. He went down, did his work, and deserves a shot again

And took on about 30 million salary for Craig. Not what you're supposed to do when you're selling at the deadline.

Yes, they've been pretty smart the last couple of years and they are turning this trade deadline into a bonanza. Amazing what you can get for an elite reliever these days.

Bellhorn, I honestly want to gut this team. Keep Tanaka, Betances and Didi. Everyone else can go. I want to see the kids play next yr, suck ass, rid more contracts and build with a good draft pick from this yr and next. Deal off Gardner, Pineda, etc. Then, just as we figure out which kids look good and before some prospects turn into pumpkins, start turning it on for 2018. If we can be reasonable in 2018, we would be a prime destination for a guy like Harper for 2019

What deal with the devil did Didi make to play like this? Also, do you think he will play like this for the next few years?

Didi has always been highly touted, but nobody ever seemed to give him an extended look. Cashman saw something and dealt away a guy at the top of his worth in Greene. What a steal that looks like. Cash basically told Didi, the job is yours. After 3 months of absolute suck last yr, the guy has been awesome. I think he is hitting his ceiling and looks like a franchise SS.

I respectfully disagree. What you do when you're selling at the deadline depends on what your short and long term goals are. That deal has turned out to be awful, but it really should not have been that bad.

Cashman has made a good haul with the trades of Chapman and Miller. I don't like it, but you have to give him credit.

His haul is impressive when you consider he's dealt away two relievers, one a pure rental. I'm intrigued to see what a bat like Beltran could get. Yes, he's a rental, but he's also hitting over .300, is on pace for 30+HR and is one of the best post season performers of all time. Someone will overpay. I hope it's the sox

And kimmi, he was buying low on two big league players who'd regressed. That's something you deal some s*** for, not a tried and true #2.

I think you hit the nail on the head. I always loathed that trade...huge missed opportunity.

The Yanks are really doing the rebuilding thing right so far, much as I hate that from a RS fan perspective.

Beltran to the Rangers for Tate and two others according to Sherman. I love Tate, good buy low option too.

Also got young righties Eric Swanson and Nick Green. Don't know much about them. Both haven't reached High A ball. Green got hit hard this yr, but the K rate is incredible. Swanson is holding his own in long season. Otherwise, I know nothing about them

Cashman did well, he traded everybody not under control next year and grab a bunch of top 100 prospects.

Miller was under team control for 2 more years at a reasonable contractual cost. The Yanks sure built up their farm though. Dealing away Miller shows they may be looking further down the road than many expected.

Aroldis Chapman for Gleyber Torres(Ranked 27th nationally), Adam Warren, Billy McKinney (4th ranked on team farm) & Rashard Crawford

Andrew Miller for Clint Frazier (ranked 21 nationally), Justus Sheffield (ranked 69th), Ben Heller & JP Feyereisen

Carlos Beltran for Dillon Tate (Rangers' 3rd best prospect) and Nick Green

Ivan Nova for two players to be named later.

Vicente Campos for Tyler Clippard

Perhaps, but I think there were some things going on with Lackey that prompted that move.

Unless Lackey was mainlining heroin, there is no excusing that horrible trade.

Was he ever ranked top 100?

Prior to this season he was ranked 69th by BA, 36th by MLB.com, and 59th by BP. I believe he fell off most midseason lists due to the poor season he's having, but it's still a nice piece to get back for a 2-month rental. He's only a year removed from being the 4th overall pick in the draft.

I agree. He looks like a dope, says stupid things but was a legit #2 or even a #1 type.

Very stupid trade that yielded nothing.

Yankees decided to get younger, trade today for tomorrow; if Chapman could move a few more players, I think he would, but it would have probably involved Yankees eating even more money. Steinbrenners are paying a lot of money right now for diminishing returns. CC/Arod/Tex/Ellsbury/mccann/Gardner/ - are all not playing to what their salary expects of them. If you're a Yankee fan and want to help the Steinbrenners pay for these guargantuan salaries, buy a Star Wars commemorative Yankee hat or other merchandise, sponsored by mastercard.

Yanks don't have the same advantages of money anymore. There are a lot of rich teams out there. But once a few more names are off that list, Yanks should be able to outbid opponents for a star like Harper, plus these prospects might help. I think rating all these farms is bull#$@. more about perception than reality. Show me a farm that's churning out great talent and it's the best. Real results at the ml level. Prospective results in the minor leagues are useful for fantasy leagues and general managers because it's one way other Gms assess prospects worth. If people perceive (as they are now saying) Yanks have the number 5 farm in baseball and you buy into that dubious claim, then it should help the Yanks in trade negotiations.

Anyway, target: 2019/2020 before Yanks are expected to win another WS? Who knows? Even with the Yanks out of it, baseball is still exciting. Lots of parity today.

you don't give away your #2 because he has a horse face;)

It'll be interesting to see what Cashman does this off season too. I think he might re-sign Chapman. I would be interested to see the price of Mitch Moreland as a free agent. I wonder if he tries to sell off a few more pieces this winter too, like McCann and Pineda? I'm hoping we go after Lourdes though.

Can someone list all the Yankee top 100 prospects now (with their rank number) plus the ones that used to be top 100 recently?

Thanks in advance.
