I have tickets to Tuesday nights game, if Buchholz doesn't get moved out of the rotation ill have to see him pitch. Well f*** me, might have to sell those tickets.

Farrell killed JBJ's streak.

I blame Buchholz. He's so bad that it just drains the whole club and makes all of the Sox hitters perform worse than normal because in the back of their minds, they know even if they scored 15 runs, Buchholz will somehow will give up 16.

JBJ should go back to the 9 spot. He was murdering from there. Ever since he moved up he's gotten hits sure but it hasn't been as good. Farrell blew it here. Also f*** Wade Boggs.

JBJ struck the ball twice that barely miss for HRs.

Yeah, the streak may have ended, but if it was even a little windier today he'd be at 30. I wouldn't worry about where he bats in the order, he only batted leadoff today because Betts had the day off anyways.

If Bett's had gotten on base and JBJ got a hit in his 5th at bat, people would be calling Farrell a genius for batting him lead-off to get that extra AB. I was personally happy to see him put at the top of the lineup as it maximizes both the potential ABs and makes it more difficult to just pitch around him. The streak was bound to end eventually. It sucks that it happened tonight, but it had nothing to do with being moved up in the lineup. Nothing.

I would love to hear a case for why Clay is still in the game.

I guess there's always the "well it can't get any worse from here" argument.

Actually, I loved the fact that he went back out for the 5th. Gave the crowd a chance to boo him on the walk to the dugout when Farrell did take him out.

It was only three bad pitches!!

I'll give a him break on the first homer. Yeah, he missed location but if that had been much lower it would have bounced. The hitter got him, it happenes.

The other two were bad pitches, no other description applies. I will give Story credit, he fouled off several pretty tough pitches before he crushed the mistake. But a pitcher has to put a guy away on 0-2.

Okay, now this is sort of trolling.

No, I thought it was pretty significant that the streak ended.

It's been talked about here quite regularly and it's not that often that someone gets halfway to The Yankee Clipper.

Kudos to JBJ!!

I didn't mean posting the article so much as making it a new thread, and I was half-kidding. That's why I put it in the GT instead of deleting it.

Yeah, it was pretty significant, though I was surprised at how much press it got on MLB.com and outside of New England. I mean, he hadn't even hit 30 games yet. Even for a Red Sox player the media attention was far more pervasive early on than I expected.

It is a no-brainer that Clay gets dropped from the rotation.

He can't fit as a reliever with zero swing and miss offering, rattle by base runners. They just have to cut him.

hopefully full of hungry tiger sharks waiting.

I don't want him to die. I just want him to swim until he washes up on a desert island where he can't hurt us anymore. He can live like Tom Hanks in Cast Away, talking to a volleyball. Until he throws it at a tree and it bounces back and flies 400 feet to land in the Monster seats.

The ocean could help rinse his hair, though the loss of life from that oil slick would be catastrophic.
