Oh Boy Jenks! I saw the last time he went to a major league mound. He couldn't get through his warmups. He got winded. We got less from him than we have gotten from Castillo or Craig.

Showalter never laughs. He is a humorless human being if he is human at all.

Do these numbers shows it's all smoke and mirrors with BAL or good coaching can make a difference?

Edward Mujica for 2 yrs at $9.5M

Joel Hanrahan for 1 yr $7M

Bobby Jenks 2 yr $12M

...and Bailey? LOL!

Funny, all of them tried to replace Papelbon's productivity. None succeeded.

Did you forget Uehara?

... and you can make a case for Lester and Lackey as well.

We definitely were a mess building pitching staffs. It is still taxing us.

Koji was a one-hit-wonder as closer. He wasn't even a closer prior Boston.

...and remember, he was not even going to be our closer. We were very very lucky to give him that role.

I remember liking Miller for the Closer role equally or better than using Koji there. Still not knocking that trade (even tho it's not helping at the moment), I just wish we re-signed Miller in FA. With what Miller has done for NYY since, I feel a bit justified in thinking that.

The Os were 19-8 in the month of June, giving up 5 runs/game.

The Sox were 10-16 in June, giving up 5.46 runs/game.

Neither pitching staff was good. The difference? The Os offense scored 6.74 runs/game to the Sox' 4.85 runs/game. In other words, the Os hit their way into first place in June, much like we did in May.

So the Yanks are "out of it" and the sawx are buyers yet only 3.5 games separates them.

Got it, thanks.

The Yankees have to get past 5 teams to get a wild card spot, not just the Sox.

Good luck.

I certainly understand that.

But to proclaim one team out of it and the other to be buyers when they are separated by 3.5 games on the last day of June is silly at best.

Yu'll just have to get over it, wont you.

Over what, moon's stupid statement?!

so do you think the yankees are "buyers"?

or is your argument that both the yankees and red sox are "sellers"?

While I do think it's early, I don't think the Yanks are championship material this year. So in that regard they should they should get as big of a haul as they can for Chapman, Miller, Beltran etc.

I don't see the sawx winning it all either.

whereas you think the Red Sox should be sellers just like the yankees?

IMO, neither team is out of it. I would never count the Yankees out. 3.5 games with 3 months to play is nothing. A hot two week stretch could erase that.

That said, neither team should be crazy buyers either.

As I posted before, a lot can change before the trade deadline.

No, I'll type slowly so maybe you can keep up.

To claim one team is "out of it" and the other team are buyers with only 3.5 games separating them and it's not even July is stupid.

Yeah, letting go Miller was also a mistake.

They did everything wrong regarding pitching that could be possibly done. DD has to clean their mess.
