Shoeless Joe Jackson

I hate agreeing with you. It feels like letting a criminal go because of misfiled paperwork or lost evidence. Technically correct, but my skin still crawls at the thought.

Anyways, I agree. I would also add Pete Rose. Rose can still inspire arguments, but given all of the research that has gone into proving that Jackson likely did nothing wrong, he should have been exonerated and inducted a long time ago.

Jim Edmonds, Jeff Kent and Larry Walker were also pretty damn good players who likely wont make the hall of fame.

Nice choices. We are starting to build a kick-ass team.

Hoffman will probably get in during the next vote. He got 67 percent of the 75 he needed in his first year. Schilling probably will, too. He jumped from 39 percent to 52 percent, so he will likely make it to 75 either this year or next. Bagwell jumped from 55 percent to 71 last year, so he's probably in on the next one. I think Tim Raines might make it too.

I just looked at the next induction voting list. A lot of interesting possibilities on this one. Manny, Ivan Rodriguez, Posada, Magglio Ordonez. And besides Manny, there are a lot of former Sox on the list this year. JD Drew, Tek, Lugo, Renteria, Wakefield, O-Cab, and Mike Cameron are all on the list. I don't think most of them have a chance in hell, but making an argument for Wakefield could be interesting.

Luis Tiant. His stats are similar and in some cases better than Catfish Hunter and Don Drysdale. I've always felt that if Hunter is in the Hall of Fame, how can you keep Tiant out.

Tiant is may all-time favorite Red Sox player. He is a winner both on and off the field. He can play on my team any time.

Tim Raines and Jeff Bagwell are probably the best players not in (and who do not have the steroid cloud over them - for the record they should all be eligible if there is no failed test) ... and yes, Catfish is one of the shakier HoF'ers in history
