I'm making this Gamethread for two reasons.

 

1. I think I'm due for a good streak, and I think the Sox are primed for one after the tough losses of the last two days.

 

2. My birthday is on Monday. I like to start the Gamethread on my birthday, even though I don't get to every time, and I don't want to take the risk. If I waited, and the Sox win tomorrow (and they will), I would have to defer to whichever user created the Sunday Gamethread.

 

So, Happy Mother's Day to all of our moms and grandmas (even the mothers of those of you I don't like, it's not your mom's fault you're such jerks), and let's settle in and watch our team kick some slow, decrepit Yankee butt.

Severino was on the cusp of being really good last game and put up a QS. His defense was his biggest detractor. We shall see which way he goes, but he finally started hitting corners and missing the middle of the zone.

Damn I wish we didn't take our .280 catcher out the lineup. Is Swihart that big of an issue? The team rolls with him last year in August and on.

The lineup is fine without Swihart. Vazquez and Hanigan are excellent defensively and the rest of the lineup can makeup for having one black hole. Swihart's defense was hurting the team more than his offense was helping it.

I don't know. Price, Buchholz, Kelly were off to s***** pitching performances. Does that have anything to do with Swihart getting bootted off? Swihart caught Wright and had issue catching the knucklers.

 

He was on such a roll last 2nd half of 2015. It was a very fast demotion and not letting Swihart settles in.
