This Giants - Cubs game is very exciting. Almora just made an outstanding diving catch on a drive by Posey to double Belt off first base.

Chapman blowing the save is an ominous sign for the Cubbies. They got him for that situation and he coughed it up. I thought he was a bit shaky in Game 1 as well.

Someone remind me why we ended up with soft toss Pom Pom when the Giants went out and got Matt Moore?

 

Yeah, I know teams don't like to trade within their division. Still, the Sox are loaded with young cheap talent and have tons of spare useless parts laying around that they could have shipped off to the Rays without damaging the core of the team.

 

Anyways, I have been hoping for a Cubs / Guardians World Series and I generally loathe all things California but now I kind of like seeing the Giants hand it to the Cubs who seem to have institutionalized losing big games.

 

Also, has it occurred to anyone else that Hunter Pence looks like a cross between a homeless man and the Uni-bomber?

 

Hell of a ball player, though.

 

One last thing. It was so much like old times seeing Lackey ( who I have always liked as a pitcher ) "Horseface" yell "f***" on the mound. I guess non-Sox baseball can be fun to watch. This game has been great.
