Wouldn't it be easier for me to just slash the tires?

No. It is a lot more work and dangerous. It's much slower and the chances of getting caught are greater. A valve stem remover makes it so easy and quick.

I would have never thought that. Good to know. I'll stash that into my criminal repertoire.

Speaking of criminal repertoires, and my apologies to Jacko for being off topic, I was pulled over by a cop for the first time in my life about a week ago. Needless to say, I was a nervous wreck. He said he clocked me going 72 in a 55. I know for a fact that I wasn't, as I had my cruise control set on 60 (59 actually). I am the poster child for model drivers. Anyone who knows me knows the idea of me doing 72 in a 55 is ludicrous.

He didn't give me a ticket, because I think he realized that he was mistaken. But it concerns me that if he really wanted to, he could have given me one and there is really nothing I could have done about it.

In any case always use honey, not vinegar with the cop. If you had to, you could contest it and get a hearing. Depending on how much money you may lose ( if any at all ) from missing work, it could be worth your while to do so. Magistrates or whatever court officer presides, usually at least reduce a fine and if you are a difficult Russian Bitch who is unrelenting, they just drop the fine and let you walk. It's a lot to go through, though. Especially if you were not speeding. If you have multiple moving violations "infractions" , you can save hundreds of $ in surcharges and fines.

I hope to never be pulled over again, but thanks for the advice. I was very respectful and polite towards the officer, and I have great respect for police officers, I might add. I think being respectful and my spotless driving record are the reasons why he didn't give me a ticket.

LOL about the 'difficult Russian Bitch'.

I'm interested to see how well Green pitches today. Cessa and Green both have to iron out some stuff. Cessa looked tired at 80 pitches, which is understandable given how he was flipped between starting and the bullpen. I'd like to see Green keep attacking hitter today. Jordan Montgomery was pure money last night for Triple-A. Would love to see him get a legit shot next year in Spring Training.

Judge cooling down but Sanchez has gone thermonuclear. 3 hits and two more HR.

Dude has been a beast. Gotta give credit where credit is due.

I'm sure he, and the other youngsters, have made watching the Yankees fun again.

And the team is still hanging around....

Been awhile since I've been this excited for a youngster on the Yankees (Cano was probably the last one). No way he keeps hitting at this pace, but Sanchez sure is fun to watch.

He isn't keeping up the pace, but he's a legit future star player. His biggest problem in the past has been in his own head. When he'd be kept at a level longer than he'd think necessary, he'd dog it a bit. He's had at least one suspension for insubordination and he's been benched for not running balls out. Pena took him under his wing last year and it really helped the kid's demeanor and work ethic. He's worked hard at his defensive craft to become a real catching prospect vs a hitting prospect who played catcher. The irony is, if Sanchez reaches his offensive potential on a yearly basis, he might be moved off the position to add life to his career

Cessa improved last night, still needs to learn to pitch a little more. I like what I'm seeing from him though. Can't blame him for those two Manny homers. Excited to see him next go, I hope he can start to think about his pitch count more.

In this age of parity, you just need to be around .500 to give yourself a shot - go on a hotstreak and you can sneak it. The team was going nowhere - then they jettisoned some vets, injected some youth, and good things are starting to happen. It's increasingly a younger man's game. I said the Yanks had no chance of making the playoffs this year. In my defense, with the team they had. But, it's a lesson. With sports, no one knows what the hell is going to happen.

Lots of teams still in it.

The Sox are up 2 on Baltimore, but 5 teams are within 3 games of Baltimore:

-1.0 DET

-2.0 HOU & SEA

-2.5 NYY

-3.0 KCR

Counting the Sox, there are 6 teams within 5 games of each other.

The NL has 5 teams within 4 games of both wild card slots.

Only 5 teams in MLB have a better record than the Sox. They are one game from being tied for the 4th best record in MLB and 3.5 games away from the second best.

I will laugh my ample ass off if the Yankees pass Baltimore and snag the second Wildcard spot.

UGH

As much as I despise the Os, I despise the Yankees more.

I really do not look forward to facing either of those teams in a one game play in, if it comes to that.

This is why I really want the Sox to take first place.

Being a Sox fan automatically makes me a Yankee-hater, but I've always been one to root for the underdog.

Seeing the Yankees dump salary this year was amazing. Nobody expected these guys to remain in the hunt, but here they are.

I'm not afraid of facing the Yankees in the playoffs, in fact I probably prefer facing them than the O's, Jays or Tigers, so in a way, I don't mind seeing them pass up these other teams in tihe standings.
