The march to 20 below continues. COLD ENOUGH FOR YA?

The way last winter went? Not quite.

We lost because I didn't post during the game. It's a given rule that the GT starter has to post at least once during the game.

Miley is 4.65 ERA. Red Sox pitcher type.

It's really a testament to how well this team has played this year when Miley's ERA is the 2nd-best on the team.

We'll see what crackpot moves come at the deadline and see if this team even has any type of chance at all this year. I'm thinking we'll be underwhelmed by Cherington's moves, and end the season in the basement once again. Maybe they'll use that draft pick wisely.

This rotation is a disaster.

I just watched the entire Pedro ceremony since I missed it, and I came to the following conclusion: I really hate the fact that I never saw him play. I was too damn young. Even in 2004.

We have allowed 19 Rs in 2 games.

And they didn't score at all out of the second half gate.

This team is a disaster all around......

I'm the same with some of the older players. I really never saw Clemens, I was too busy playing the game instead of watching it. I feel like I missed something when the people mention some of the greats I've never seen. But I'm sure every generation goes through this.....

I'll start to feel old when the first group of guys I do remember watching get into the HOF. Guys like Ortiz and Jeter, although we still have some time before that happens.

No! Ne made a running catch and his momentum carried hum to up and over the wall into the bullpen. He fell on the bullpen tarp possibly injuring his shoulder.

I heard on the radio on the way home that he is having concussion symptoms.

I'm in the same boat as you brother.

He was a treat. I saw a lot of the greats from the Mid-60's on. I never saw Koufax in person and I don't remember seeing him on TV. He retired when I was 7 years old. Pedro was an event. The whole town buzzed on days he pitched.

Wow. I guess when you really think about it, he was the last true ace we had, except for those years with Lester. He left the Sox when I was 6. I vaguely recall him playing for the Phillies, but I was not as big of a fan of the game back them as I am now, meaning that I didn't watch games that the Sox weren't playing in.

They were both past their primes, but having Pedro and Schilling at the top of our rotation in 2004 was pretty enjoyable.

I was at the game and the ceremony was awesome. It was a great experience and Im glad I went. However as soon as Miley stepped on the mound it killed the atmosphere and the game itself was a complete s*** show

Yup. It is pathetically run and managed.

Can someone explain to me why that play was a home run? I thought that once the fielder is determined to have control of the ball, it doesn't matter if he drops it. I mean, Mookie took a couple steps after hauling that in.

I didn't understand the call either. That was a very odd play and I thought it was an awful ruling

I heard the explanation that on a play in the outfield it is not considered to be a catch until the fielder attempts to take the ball out of the glove. I had never heard that before. Control is not enough.

That seems really lame. Oh well.

That one play is actually a perfect representation of the Red Sox season so far. If you condensed Bill Mueller's walkoff against Mariano Rivera into a .gif, you'd have the '04 season. If you condensed Papelbon pumping his fist, you'd have '07. Condense Papi yelling "this is our f***ing city", you have the '13 season. Make the Mookie play into a .gif, and you have every other season between '04 and now, except maybe 2008.

Thats what I heard on the nesn broadcast. Because the ball was involuntarily dislodged from his glove, it couldn't be considered a catch.

Thunder, you missed drama on the mound. Pedro was must see TV at a time when I was living in Mass for the first time. I hated him, but his pitching feats were amazing. The guy has the power of a Clemens yet the control

And smarts of a Maddux. And he was a showman. I loved it when we beat him and cursed his name when we couldn't. I still cannot believe he has been out of a sox uni for 11 years. Feels like yesterday the Posada bloop fell in...

He was a throwback pitcher of the finest variety. Possibly the greatest changeup that I ever saw. Watching him took me back to a time when all I wanted to do was play ball. If you weren't playing, you were watching. He owned the plate- the whole plate. In his absolute prime, he was as good as I ever saw. I would put him into a very special class - Koufax, Gibson, Martinez . I also go back to Warren Spahn - not bad. To those who never saw Koufax and Gibson, youtube away and watch 2 of the best 3 that ever picked up a baseball.

So they bring up the Golden Boy and then sit him after one game.

They are showcasing De Aza. He has had some trade interest.

After this week, I am guessing Castillo will have the vast majority of playing time. Well, now with Mookie injured, Castillo will probably play this week too.
