This one would have been worth staying up to watch, but I turned in. Nice win. So so appearance by Porcello. HE looked more like a #3/4 tonight than a #2. The team got it done. Panda came through. Go get them tonight. Kimmi, keep the mojo going.

Oakland is 1 win and 11 losses in 1 run games. And I can't remember back to when Oakland was a pushover.

 

Some gutsy performances in that game.

It would be nice to take this next one, the pitching matchup for the third game doesn't look good.

Pitching the first game of a West Coast trip is probably not easy. 5 IP, 3 ER isn't a good start, but considering that it is actually one of his worst this year, that saying something good about Porcello.

Sometimes he will scape from the BABIP death, sometimes not like yesterday (could have been worse). In the end IMO he will be around 4-4.5 ERA unless he improves his K/9.

Having a sub-4 ERA isn't exclusive to guys with good K/9 rates. What Porcello needs to do is induce more weak contact.

We need him to be our hammer, because we have nothing else going for us. It wasn't a bad start, but not a typical top of the rotastion guy -- just too many hits and too many balls in the air.

Pal was saying how inconsiderate the schedule makers were, scheduling the west coast games before he moved out there. I was thinking the same thing. How inconsiderate of the schedule makers to schedule the west coast games before I am on summer vacation.

You guys should do what I do. Stay up most of the time, and only sleep in five hour increments every couple days. Then you never miss the games!
