Oh f***ing excuse me for not knowing the guy's exact name.

Well you come from another country and speak another language. So many will let you off the hook for your grammar, etc..

I am expected to know the exact name and spelling of that name when it is someone who rarely gets mentioned compared to other people.

I have been trying to learn how to spell our announcer's name for about 5-6 years. Don Orcillo, I think.

I try to make my post intelligible if not intelligent. I guess that I am failing in the minds of some.

Blow me to anyone but VA or Derek that feels the need to correct my bad spelling.

I think I would rather have seen Leon paired with Kelly last night. Kelly has great stuff but think he needs a veteran catcher to help him harness it.

Leon is a veteran of the minor leagues. I don't think his experience carries a lot more weightthan Swihart's.

I didn't like how Kelly tries to use just 1 quadrant of the strikezone on all his pitches. Throwing inside usually need surgical precision. The 4 seamer needs to be feature as well. Air that sucker up at the letters.

Kelly really has great stuff. But he needs to learn how to pitch. It would be great to see him paired with a veteran catcher like David Ross, or to spend some time with Curt Schilling or Pedro.

I would like to know why the Sox pitching coach and manager have not been able to help Kelly as Shilling suggests.

I thought those two guys were supposed to be especially good at that type of thing.

A catcher can't teach control. Kelly has good stuff, but leaves too much of it out over the plate.

You have to be very patient with Kelly. Remember Andrew Miller? He was just like Kelly, or worse when he came here. The Red Sox got rewarded with 3 good years out of Miller, and their best pitching prospect Rodriguez came in a trade after selling high on Miller. Even if Kelly ends up as a reliever, he could be a very dominant one. Edited by Station 13

Salty has been released. The Marlins could not find a trade partner, and reportedly it is a certainty that he will clear waivers. Bringing him bac might not be a bad idea. He can strap on the equipment for 100 games.

I always appreciated Salty's work ethic and his commitment to his pitchers. He understood what his top priority was. That said, this pitching staff needs a defensive oriented catcher, and Salty is not one.

That said, the depth at catcher is now sparse, and the Sox really need to pick up a veteran catcher, "just in case". I don't think Salty is the guy, but to rely on Swihart and Leon with no Plan B (or are we now down to Plan D?) would be a bit remiss on the part of the FO.

Is there anyone else available at this time with experience?

I honestly have no clue as to who might be available. I'm not talking about a starting catcher. I'm talking about a veteran backup similar to what Hanigan was supposed to be. Surely, there must be a team willing to trade one somewhere.

At long as the equipment belongs to somebody other than the Red Sox, that's fine with me.

Tony Pena might be a better answer than Salty especially with this pitching staff.

I read that Wil Nieves was recently DFA'd by the Padres. I don't know much about him, but my understanding is that he's another weak hitting, solid defensive back up catcher. I wonder if the Sox will have any interest.
