That the Royals are up 2-0 against the team with the best record in baseball this season is kind of a shock, but as I told my ardent Angels fan wife, they are not out of it and could come back even though it looks pretty tough right now. I did notice and brought to her attention that the last week or so the Halos did not play all that well. Perhaps they were de-compressing after running up a very hot summer, but Playoffs are a strange animal. Face it, except for maybe one or two seasons since the Yankees ended their dynastic run of four titles in five years, there has not been a clear cut favorite for the title heading into the post-season. It is the reason baseball is such a great sport, the best in my opinion. You never know what is going to take place in these playoff runs.

I am so....ambivalent about the Angels as a franchise. They're one of the meh ones for me. I won't be upset if they won it all this year, but let's keep the Royals story rolling.

Nats need to tie this up. 2-0 is pretty much over in the best of 5.

So sick of seeing the Giants in the Series recently....On the other hand, I hate the Nationals. Cardinals are my only play in the NL.

What a stupid move by Matt Williams removing Zimmerman after a walk in the 9th with 2 outs after dominating the Giants giving up only 4 base runners. Just another example of managerial stupidity.

There seem to be no end of the plethora of miserable and inept managers in the game today. Williams is the latest of that pathetic bunch. That move was praised by the acolytes at the end of the game but it was a dumb move pure and simple. The Giants seem to know how to win in these types of pressure packed series and the Nats once again as they did the last time they were in the post season are s***ing the bed. And this Harper phenom is pretty much in Bogaerts place as a s***** hitter with RISP----a real choker.

In this series against the Angels, Hosmer is hitting like the player that the Royals thought he would be. Edited by a700hitter

I'm right on all my predictions so far. Let's go KC!!!!!

Good for you Thunder because you're winning for both of us. I can't believe how off I've been in these games. My only saving grace is that I had the Giants beating the Pirates in the WC and winning the series against Washington (which they now should). Wrong as can be with the A's vs KC in the WC, miserably wrong in my call for the Angels against KC, and pretty pathetic in thinking this year Detroit would get it right. They didn't, but I'm glad the Orioles took them even though I predicted otherwise. Keep up the good work Thunder.

I'm really hoping Washington can pull a stunning comeback. I'd like KC/Baltimore and Dodgers/Nationals, because then we are guaranteed a World Series winner who hasn't won it all in a really long time. If the Giants or Cardinals make it in I feel like they'll end up beating up on either Baltimore or KC and then we'll have another Giants or Cardinals WS title in a couple years and frankly, the thought of that is boring to me.

The underdog Royals will be facing the O's. I will be pulling for KC as I can't stomach Showalter.

Fans will probably continue to debate the Shields for Myers trade, but KC got what they wanted from Shields. He anchored the staff of a weak hitting team for a couple of seasons and helped them get to the post-season and advance to the ALCS. Myers still carries with him the dreaded "P" word -- potential.

I'm surprised the Royals won, I wonder is Scioscia is in trouble now. Who would have called a Baltimore/KC ALCS back in March?

In March? Heck, I didn't even pick it last week. LOL!!!

I'm happy to see the Royals succeed. It's been a long, long time coming.

It seems to me that as recently as this past spring we were all saying things like "The Sox have this game. It's the Royals, after all." Followed by "The Sox are so bad that they can't even beat the Royals."

Now the Royals are scorching hot and playing for the AL pennant. Who would have thought this possible at the beginning of the season?

I have stated that I want the O's to win it all. Now I am sort of torn. I still want the O's to go to the Series because I think that they have enough of everything to win it all in a seven game series.

But now the Royals have entered the picture and have become the feel good Cinderella team this post season. I am concerned about their lack of power. However they seem very adept at manufacturing runs with a speedy, slap hitting lineup. Maybe that is good enough? They have a good pen. They seem to have enough starting pitching for a 7 game series.

I still want the O's to win because I am a loyal AL East guy and I like Duquette (sp). But if the Royals win the series against the O's I won't be upset or disappointed. It's cool to see them succeed.

I hope that there is a way for both the Cards and Dodgers to be eliminated.

Above all my blatantly subjective and unfounded statements, I think that this post season has been as good as any that did not include my team, the Red Sox.

GO AL!!!!!!!!1!1

I see where you're coming from Youk, but from where I sit deep in LA County Dodger country the thought of having that team in the World Series gives me hives and elicits the temptation to head for the john to heave up my lunch. We get the Bums 24/7 out here on their station and you can't believe the propaganda ******** that their personnel, front office, and hangers-on spout, and all they talk about is their glorious 19 f***in' 88 WS Title. A bunch of front running arrogant bastards. So cut me a little slack. I wouldn't mind either Baltimore or KC in the WS but let's have the Giants in there again or the Cards. At least they know how to play the game right and dollar signs don't materialize out of their asses as the multi-zillionaire owners of the LA team do.

Lousy pitch by lackey there. He went to the outside too much

Well Lackey did the job, just as he did for us all last season during the post-season. Good to see the Dodgers lose---I really don't want to see them in the World Series but it is out of my hands. I wonder if they will come back with Clayton Kershaw on short rest as they did last year. My guess is they will.

Great job by Lackey. I was rooting for him last night. I know the Dodgers haven't been there in a while, but I really don't like Carl Crawford and Adrian Gonzalez. I believe the Dodgers are going with Kershaw today, unfortunately he seems to turning into the A-Rod of postseason pitchers.
