Are they really that bad a team though? They have lost a ton of 1-run games, and have hit poorly with RISP. Sometimes I feel like if they had one more quality outfield bat they would be in much better shape. Losing Ellsbury and Victorino has broken the outfield.

They lost Ells and Vic, but Carp and Nava's production bottomed out as well. They brought in Sizemore for upside and he's been garbage. Gomes has shown why he only lasts two seasons at each stop.

Gomes is still hitting .297/.425/.469/.894 against lefties. For some odd reason, Farrell has seemed to forgotten that he has a .169/.247/.296/.543 line against righties.

Yeah, Gomes is NOT an everyday player. The lack of a viable platoon partner (sorry Nava, Carp and Grady), is really hurting the middle of the order.

No Navafan, it should never have come down to Taz and Koji. Look at my first post on the first page of this thread......We cannot come back from a deficit to TIE. We have done that countless times this season only to lose in e xtra innings. We cannot afford to just tie---we need to take a lead, get ahead, have at least one more f***ing run than the other team has. Then maybe the game doesn't do into extra innings and have that piece of crud Mujica give the game away. And give the Cardinals credit. They always seem to know when to get rid of someone and we seem to have the curse of picking these turds up when they are no longer effective. Sad to say, even you couldn't help us this time around because right now we stink again.

 

BTW----0-3 with Drew on the roster.
