Early in the season or not, and all other factors or non-factors notwithstanding... if the Red Sox had just one more win under their belt at this point, and the Yankees had just one less, both teams would have the same record right now. The Yankees fan should find something firmer to stand on before tooting his blowhole.

It's been two weeks.

Of course. But you must concede, our offence is off to a remarkably bad start. We're averaging 3.5 runs scored per game. Last year, in our worst month for scoring we averaged 4.5 runs per game. We've got some work to do to catch up to that.

OTOH run scoring continues to go down overall. AL teams are only averaging 4.17 runs per game to date. Offence is being seriously snuffed.

It is only two weeks so there is no reason to panic, but based on the performance of the team for these two weeks there is not much about which to be encouraged.

You are contradicting your own point.

My only point is that our offence is off to a remarkably s***** start. That's undeniable. The only question is how much of an aberration it is.

God its been forever since I have been on this forum...anywhooo

The Red Sox are 12th in the league in hits and top 10 in .OBP. They seem to be able to get runners on base but are coming up short driving the runners in. One reason could be that they lead the league in grounding into double plays with 17. They have shown a lack of power with only 30 XBH on the season. They are also among the bottom half of the MLB in walks with 38 in 444 ABs.

However, its only been 13 games into the season. The fact that they are getting on base is a positive sign. The hits will come as the season progresses. I think that our starting pitching has been exceptional so far. With a little bit of timely hitting here and there, the sox will be just fine.

If anyone is seriously ready to jump off the bridge prior to the Patriots Day game, they need some help.

This team has a recent history of starting off way worse. The bats will come around. The pitching will be fine. This doesn't mean they should warm up the duck boats. It just means that this team will be competing for a playoff spot at year end. If that's not enough to satisfy you, maybe find something else to chew your nails over.

Personally I'm as chill about this season as I could possibly be. 3 titles in 10 years, I am a happy Sox fan. Doesn't mean I won't be in here jibber-jabbering and analyzing things, it's too hard to resist.

I am still basking in the Championship, but I will be here jibber-jabbering with you. If our analyzing, critiquing and jibber jabbering bothers people, well that will just be too bad for them. Let them be miserable about our fun. :)

I think we're all basking in the Championship. I don't think a day goes by that I don't stare in my room at the 2013 ensemble of pictures and posters of our 2013 season. However, though the season is barely underway I have noticed both in person and on TV what appears to be a lack of urgency and a very blasé attitude. Sure, it could be my imagination but I have to tell you what I saw at Fenway in October and what I recently saw a week and a half ago was like night and day.

Forget you a700. The jibber-jabbing during the game threads have made me not even care to participate in the GTs. Everyone has turned into sbfred. Like an annoying NYY fan when they expected to dominate every season (from day ONE).

But I guess it's just too bad for me.

I hope everyone enjoys whining, bitching and moaning over things they have no control over. As well as s***ing on players who are struggling 2 weeks into the season. No one has learned s*** during the past 10 years. It's a waste of time and boring to me. This place, that I used to LOVE, has become not so fun anymore. It sucks. It's no fun and it's annoyingly predictable. It's the reason we lost great posters like ORS and Example 1.

Knock yourselves out!
