Id say Drew being in pinstripes is a better bet than him being back here. All the top prospects list that have been out this week and showing Boggey as an elite talent will hurt Drew's chances. I say that unless Drew wants to be here on a short term deal and he has Boras makes it happen. WMB and Boggey as the Left side of the infield has power written all over it if both can live up to their potential and stay healthy. Thats a big IF but as it stands now thats all we have.

Roberts-2B? Kelly Johnson-3B? whatever, it's a patchwork infield not worthy of the playoffs.

You're an idiot. They are the #8 and #9 hitters in the lineup. And they'll hit better than JBJ and Pierzynski, the two guys likely to be at the bottom of yours

What about Roberts/Johnson 2B and Drew 3B?

I don't think Drew's bat plays as well at 3B, plus how he'd handle that switch is anyone's guess.

Post your projections for all four hitters.

I still see no votes for Sizemore. I said 50/50 he gets thru ST. That should get him some votes. Roberts is a zero.

The Yankee infield is a disaster. Maybe their worst in 30 years.

Oh Christ, you're a complete idiot for all your optimism about the MF mercenary Yankees. Answer the question.

Who is at 2B? 3B?

It's the worst Yankee infield I've seen in 30 years. Roberts is a zero. Orioles reject.

I am going to go with Roberts, because assuming that both are healthy, Roberts will be a starter.

If Roberts had a good chance of being healthy, the Orioles wouldn't have ditched him.

Don't overrate guys just because the Yankees signed them. They are scraping the bottom of the barrel on infielders after screwing up on Cano.

Sizemore has to beat Daniel Nava out for a spot. Carp is secure because we need him to back up first base, so Nava is the only outfielder who's vulnerable other than JBJ, who's absolutely making the roster unless he's as disaster. They decided that when they let Ellsbury walk. If healthy, Sizemore's superior versatility and all-around talent speak pretty loudly to my ears, and gives him a reasonable chance to compete with a guy who in the back of everyone's mind, came from nowhere to have one good year and may never have another. Besides, we need a backup outfielder who can play centerfield. Counting on Victorino to stay healthy all year so that he's available to back up center is a fool's gamble. Like as not he himself will spent plenty of time being replaced.

Brian Roberts on the other hand? Pretty much has to dethrone Derek Jeter. Ryan's going nowhere, he starts at second if Jeter's playing short, and Roberts doesn't have the versatility to play backup.

I will make a sig bet with you. Here are the conditions:

At the end of the season, instead of comparing every possible statistic, we will simply add the batting average and OPS of Roberts and Johnson, and do the same with JBJ and Pierzynski. Whichever number is higher, wins. Injuries will not be excepted. Meaning if Brian Roberts falls apart like a child's party balloon that has carelessly drifted into the ambient heat of the barbecue pit, or Kelly Johnson accidentally pricks himself on one of Joba's needles while sitting in the dugout and watching other people who aren't going to suck take his playing time, you can't cry foul. And I can't break the best if Pierzynski goes on the DL after someone punches him in his annoying, ugly face or JBJ doesn't move quickly enough out of Papi's way when D'Angelos brings in the catering table. The only exception either of us can make is if one or both of our players either get sent to the minors or traded to another team before the season ends. The sig bet will be for the entire offseason.

LOL Roberts hits a HR in his 1st AB, blows his back out rounding the bases and is lost for the season leaving him with a BA of 1.000 and an extremely Pissed off Youk as he has no chance of winning the bet after 1 ab in game 1 of 162. :P

Other then that this is a really good debate. It's pretty much slit down the middle imo. I picked Grady for the "story" element.

Oh, yeah, good call. I didn't consider that. Alright, let's add that the whole thing is void if even one of the four doesn't get at least 100 PA.

Roberts will probably pull something putting on his uniform day one of spring training. I think Jeter starts collecting social security this year. No team with a SS his age has won a championship. I think a lot of people are going to be surprised at JBJ production.
