I think we're gonna re-sign Reynolds for 3b, use Johnson at 2b and Ryan at UTIL

Jete and Reynolds as the left side of your infield, huh? Might be some range issues there.

Randy Levine shot down any chance of Gardy being traded.

"One will play left, one will play center, and it's a tremendous defensive situation. So no there's absolutely no intention to move Brett Gardner. We get inquiries about every single one of our players all the time, [GM Brian Cashman] listens, but there's no attempt here to trade or move Brett Gardner."

Kelly Johnson is the key to their success.

Kelly Johnson is a power hitting middle infielder who provides lefty power, some OBP and almost no defense. If he can find his power stroke in NY, he will be valuable. If he doesn't, then he'll be a liability

I thought they would have as well. They must have faith in K-Rob. The guy has the stuff, lets see if he has the balls

Jacko, one thing no one has seemed to mention about whether the Yankees are vastly improved now, or slightly improved, or running in place, is the fact that perhaps your No. 1 weapon is no longer with you guys. Mariano Rivera is hands down the greatest closer in baseball history and all of us know it. It was an automatic lockdown 95% of the time he came in to close a game. That loss has got to sting a lot and that is why your closer next year has to really step up and show good stuff, and as you put it, show the balls to do the job. I would have sworn that you guys were getting Balfour but I've been as surprised as you are at some of the moves the Yankees have made. They haven't gotten very much younger have they.

Mo was amazing. I'm glad I can say I was there for his final appearance. What he have us was stability. He was a 90% save guy who was there every yr sans 2012. Guys have had better seasons (Gagne, Okajima) but it's the body of work that stands out for Mo. That and the playoff resume. He was absolutely and totally amazing in the playoffs. It's a downgrade for sure. Guys can imitate Mo for a year or two, but we likely will never see a pitcher dominate for 19 seasons again. It's a big loss, although one that needs to be replaced by the pen on the whole. We have the talent in the minors to rebuild the pen, but we'll never have a Mo again

But who replaces him as ace set-up guy?

You are right UN, not sure what I typed there. I think the Yankees are expecting one of their kids to be the fire in the pen. I always said we needed one lefty and one back end pen arm. If we don't get the back end guy, we're going to be leaving a lot up to the young pups out there. I know these kids have talent, but to throw them into the 8th inning role in April is a bit much. Very strange offseason for sure
